Oh, it stays disabled when a password manager fills in the form without user input? Less clever...

Today @Xdebug helped me to locate a bug introduced by a stupid typo by me in a configuration file. My brain parser failed to detect that typo. Nevertheless it took me way too long to eventually hunt down the error.
Big kudos for this great tool! #xdebug

@koehnlein @SuitedUpDev @cybersmog @Xdebug @ddev ... and the lovely DDEV plugin for PHPStorm, which makes it even easier.
But.
I also very often debug manually via var_dump, dd or DebuggerUtility. It just depends.

I had massive problems with #DDEV, #colima and #qemu on a Mac M1 the last few days. The system was super fast, but then out of the blue requests took 1 to 3 minutes and the qemu process went up to 400% CPU workload.

It looks like (and I cross my fingers) the problem was running colima with a docker installation from Docker-Desktop. I uninstalled it and installed Docker with "brew install docker" in lieu of "brew install --cask docker" and everything is working fine again. By now.

    @danielsiepmann Ich finde es immer wieder schade, wenn im Zusammenhang mit Homosexualität von "Angst" gesprochen wird. Ja, Unbekanntes sorgt immer für Unbehagen, schon klar. Aber "Angst" impliziert "Gefahr". Und weil jetzt per se von Homosexualität keine Gefahr ausgeht, versucht man einen anderen Konnex herzustellen. Pädophilie z.B., was schrecklich ist, weil das eine mit dem anderen gar nichts zu tun hat, aber für Einfältige ist die Denkweise halt "praktisch".

    @danielsiepmann Ich freue mich immer, wenn ich ein homosexuelles Pärchen seh. Weil die zwei den Mut haben, es öffentlich zu zeigen. Weil sie dazu stehen. Mir würde nie in den Sinn kommen, mich vor einem Homosexuellen zu "fürchten", weder in der Dusche, noch sonst wo. Warum auch? Er ist ja nicht anders als ich.
    Was ich mir manchmal wünschen würde ist, als verheirateter Mann von Homosexuellen nicht per se und so offensichtlich abgelehnt zu werden. Ich mach das bei ihnen ja auch nicht.

    I think it's a pretty good advice to clear caches within now and then. It prevents from a lot of headache, when PHPStorm does not behave as expected once again. File -> Invalidate Caches...
    Warning! Re-Indexing of projects might take some time!

    @outofcontrol This time it was a ludicrous behaviour when setting up and within with "external tools". Phpstorm only excepted one single setting after each other and I had to restart the software after each setting so that Phpstorm would find config files in the docker container. After clearing the cache everything worked as expected.

    #PHPStorm is a pretty darn good software, but sometimes I lose my nerve on settings and system notices. Especially #xdebug and the "Debug session was finished without being paused" message took me hours to figure out what is going on. "It may be caused by path mappings misconfiguration" is totally misleading. Most of the time it's simply because a breakpoint has been set for a code never been executed. 😞 🙄

    If you want to get rid of this message (which might be fine because in case the breakpoint is set for not executed code xdebug simply does not stop), change settings in PHP -> Debug -> Settings -> Notify if debug session was finished without being paused

    Ich bräuchte bitte mal eure Empfehlungen für einen Rucksack zur beruflichen Nutzung. Anforderungen wären:

    • wasserdicht (!)
    • Laptop muss reinpassen
    • zweites Staufach
    • idealerweise ein kleines Fach für Kleinkram
    • ein bischen stylisch wäre fein
