I finally got a new typewriter. (The one on the right.) I had a blue "Easy Writer" about 30 years ago and somehow lost it in the many moves over the years.
Yes, it's plastic, yes, it's a "toy", and yes, it really types.
A friend of mine who collects typewriters managed to find it for me so I bought it from her. Sweet!

Maker Faire Milwaukee is set for November 4th & 5th, 2023 and while I was a "performer" last year (I made noise and weird art in a dark room) I just don't know what to do this year...
I mean, I used to run the Faire, but should I just exhibit now? What should I show? Should I make more weird art that can stand alone? (I think I had 7 exhibits back in 2019.)
This is a weird feeling I don't know what to do with.
I emailed the #Milwaukee#NPR affiliate to ask them if they could set up something on a social media platform other than X/Twitter and they suggested installing their mobile app to view their content.
Another day of unbreathable air in #Milwaukee. #climatechange comes home to roost and it turns out no one likes it. Staying inside all day for multiple days in a row during the summer feels very, very wrong. #StirCrazy
We rode the new #Milwaukee#BRT bus downtown to the Lakefront Art Festival. We were very impressed with the ride. It was fast. The drivers were terrific AND, it was free. That’s hard to beat. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try.
Last month was the 150th anniversary of the invention of the typewriter, which was created in Milwaukee by journalist/printer/politician Christopher Latham Sholes. Here's a look at its history and ongoing relevance, and how Milwaukeeans celebrated the typrewriter's big birthday with the inaugural QWERTYFEST, an inky paradise for collectors, artists, history buffs and word nerds.
I've been looking everywhere in #Milwaukee for New Mexican chiles. Used to be able to find them, but no longer. Ordered some by mail from NM. Cooking up a pot of red posole for dinner tonight. #cooking
What’s your region’s biggest infrastructure embarrassment?
Here’s I-794 in #Milwaukee, which is 32.5 acres of the most valuable commercial and residential real estate in Wisconsin, estimated to be worth as much as $1.5 billion. All while only 15% of cars ever use the full bypass.
But here's the good news for Milwaukeeans! There’s a concerted effort to remove the freeway and revitalize the area.
