Dodging showers today but didn’t mind being caught in the rain a couple of times. Probably would have been ok, but there was snow overnight up high so kept it simple on the West Highland Way. #mtb#cycling
Back on the bike after a needing a few days to recover after last week’s efforts. Still a little tender but couldn’t resist a quick out and back/up and down. #mtb#cycling#highlands
Memory from Winter of 2022 on the fat bike. I don't like the insta360 go’s quality, but the feature where it keeps the horizon level makes some really interesting tire angles. Wheee!!
Years ago, I struggled through a challenging 40km mountain bike loop that left me exhausted and discouraged. This time, I revisited the same route with better preparation, fitness, and a new bike. The result was a surprising and rewarding experience. Check out the video to see how it went!
I was just thinking: is mountain biking the "extreme" / action sport most likely to survive after The Collapse™?
Cities will be too dirty for skateboarding and rollerblading, snowboarding and skiing require both snow and access to high altitudes. Maybe BMX will also have a chance in rubble filled cities?
Am i the only person wondering about these things?
should I get a full suspension #mtb if I'd rarely need it? I'd use it some up at #duluth probably but the reality is thatd be like once a year. But of course I could be overbiked at Theo and it's not like thats a problem.
im mostly trying to decide between a Wyatt Vista and an Otso Fenrir. I have a Wyatt fat bike and an Otso gravel bike so I'm familiar with the brands but neither offers full suspension.
All the right questions only very few people would really ask (but more should care) in the gravel performance realm. And a wind tunnel to get the answers. Dylan's latest video on his Unbound Setup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3yspNTvVPo
This past weekend was pretty memorable. Went to Bentonville, AR for Bike Fest. I only brought my e-bike as our goal was to get as much riding in as possible over 3 days. Broke my lower cage on my derailleur, rain dumped on us in the morning of day 2, and day 3 was just perfect. Officially clocked 92 miles of riding during our trip.
Unfortunately on the night before we were going to head home, a Tornado rolled through the area and caused major damage all over town. My car sustained a bunch of hail damage, but luckily nothing worse. Large trees fell over many homes and cars. Power lines down everywhere and trees blocked most of the streets. We were lucky enough to just barely make it out. The event had to be canceled for Sunday because of all the damage.
We got to see some great shows at the event, check out a bunch of booths of our favorite biking brands, and just be around like-minded people who have a passion for bikes and riding.
Here's a short clip of one of the trials riders practicing for an upcoming event. A lot of the riders were here from all over Europe since this was a UCI event. #mtb
And this was a very fun trail that had a bit of everything. We rode it about 4x to get more comfortable carrying more speed, but I couldn't get myself to go faster to clear some of the jumps. But some of the locals say this is one of the fastest trails in the area. It's called Interplanet Janet. I know everything looks flat in the video, but it was mostly downhill and had great features.
Today i did the 18th #Bike2Work ride.
It was 19°C and cloudy, no wind at all. Very wet since it stopped raining an hour before the ride. I was very lucky for once 😁 I did track C-K (22.5km, 280m ascend).
After these 10 days of stop (well i trained anyway, but not commuted) i felt in great condition. Plus, every time it's wet or raining it's like i have a boost or something...so i destroyed the last year PR by 5 minutes! 😲
Something totally different on this morning's solo trail run: I didn't stop to take any photos! The few I took were while running. Also, comparing watch vs. phone recording times, see if you can guess which is which (answer in ALT).
Recorded a short video, halfway into the run on one of the cool spines of the #mtb#running trails. Sadly, watching videos afterwards, they never seem close to the speed I thought I was going. ";^)
Infrequently used singletrack motocross/mtb trail halfway up Eagle Mt, connecting to other even less frequently used, but magical trails. Only becomes accessible in April, but worth it, as it hugs the mountain side for a few km that feel endless (as good singletrack does). #mtb#hiking#nature#singletrack#trails#pnw
