A recent study found that the western and southern Amazon will struggle to survive against increasingly extended periods of drought brought on by climate change, which will reduce the areas’ ability to store carbon.
Researchers sampled more than 540 trees across 129 species at 11 separate sites in the western, central-eastern and southern Amazon, covering Brazil, Peru and Bolivia.
A pair of beautiful Jays suddenly appeared in the garden last week, I've never seen one before and I'm pretty sure they're not too common this far north.
Fabulous colours and an interesting head feather patterning they have.
So pleased I managed to spot one and had time to grab the camera 🙂

40 years ago today: Cowrock Mountain was the star of the show today, with many views from the open, rocky ledges and terraces around the summit.
