#WordWeavers 6/3
Who is your most creative character?
Definitely the minstrel, Shawmelle. She sings, plays a lute and writes her own songs. Her father was a minstrel, as well, and was the one who taught her to play.
She's also very lucky, in that one of the kingdom's squires takes a liking to her. 🙂
Fantasy need not be epic! My first fantasy is out now. The Tyrant of Spite is a light-hearted novella with coming of age and romance themes. Nothing epic or grim, I went for a very light touch with a little magic.
I designed the cover using a licensed image from Tithi Luadthong (@grandfailure on iStock) and Photoshop. This wonderful illustration inspired the story.
I am a Nebula Award finalist, and the Nebula conference is this week. My book, THE INN AT THE AMETHYST LANTERN, is nominated for the Andre Norton Nebula Award for younger fiction (young adult in this case). So what's the book about? I've got you covered: https://jendiagammon.com/2024/03/18/about-the-inn-at-the-amethyst-lantern/
"Artists are people who are not at all interested in the facts—only in the truth. You get the facts from outside. The truth you get from inside." –Ursula K. Le Guin
Na empiku 'Sztandary imperium' w przedsprzedaży za 31.29. Jeszcze parę dni temu były za 39. U wydawcy.. za 35.
Ja serio nie rozumiem polityki cenowej wydawcy i księgarzy. To dość frustrujące, zachęcać ludzi do kupna za prawie cztery dychy, a parę dni potem się dowiadywać, że empik robi promkę. Nie bijcie, nie wiedziałem, że tak będzie.
#WordWeavers 4 Antagonist POV: is it easy for you to apologize?
The ghost of King Armand:
I am the best at apologizing. I am so incredibly humble, more humble than anyone else. But I am never really wrong on anything, so it doesn't come up too often. But when I do, I express sincerity like no other, and everyone accepts it instantly. I am an expert in managing my own ego. It never gets in the way. My ego is the best ego a person could have. It is very well crafted.
What I like is the unexpected creativity. Various characters are raised to be fighters. The men in the kingdom are solely applauded for their martial skills, so I like it when Lazarus writes poetry while commanding an army, Dionysus draws funny animals as he is competing in a tournament, and Sabre, who was raised to be an assassin, uses his shadow magic to illustrate bedtime stories for his daughter.
Banou is a gelatinous, shapeshifting girl, entrusted to WoeNylVal's matchmaking abilities. Until Banou is married, she will live in the matchmakers' mind-fortress.
To help her in her quest to marry into power, Banou asked to become the physical embodiment of beauty. Her arrogance and snobbery mitigate her good looks. #Art#Fantasy#NinePrincesses#OC
This is one of my favorite drawings that I made (if I may humbly say so). I love autumn and I love pumpkins. And what is better than pumpkins? Magical pumpkins! 😁 #art#fantasy#drawing#pumpkin
And if you haven't read The Way of the Wielder yet, no worries! You can buy your copy on Amazon now (or read it on KU for free): https://a.co/d/hRZOw8j
There's a secret agency within the Musimagium that travels through time. There's an even more secret one that handles rare artifacts.
Time travel, service horse, ponies!!!!, magic, some potty humor -- it's a fun #cozy#fantasy read.
Hey all! 👋🏼 It’s #introdction time! My name is Hannah and I want to share a little about myself:

I’m a co owner of Markley Bros. Entertainment and a cast member on our #dnd show Ember Fables! I #homeschool my kids and drink enough #coffee to fuel a small army ☕️
Still reading The Tyrant Baru Cormoran. This stuff is dense and rich, and takes time to digest. Also, only so much of certain types of body horror I can take in one go. So while I usually read a book in one or two days, this one's taking me a lot longer, started on the 20th and I'm about 4/5 done. Needless to say, I think it's a great book.
I keep meaning to do more drawings from explicitly high or low perspectives in order to practice perspective and proportions—and so that I can learn to draw more dynamic scenes for future illustration work. So here's an elf witch riding a broomstick, seen from below.
Pelliniana is small for her age and a kind-looking, adorable teenage girl. She wears dresses and giggles a lot. She's fully aware of the innocence she portrays, and if anyone messes with her family in any way, she literally starts collecting eyeballs. Beneath the surface, she is feral, angry, and unforgiving.
She has a profound capacity for love which is precisely why she is volatile and deadly at times.
