Happy July Fourth! Here's hoping (if you're celebrating) that you have a peaceful, safe and relaxing day! Oh, and how about celebrating the independence from fossil fuels that you can get when you dump the pump? Let us know your celebrations! #ElectricCar#Green#Renewable
I’ve owned my #Nissan#Ariya for 6 months now. There will be a video update coming to my #YouTube channel soon. It was going to come out this weekend but recent events made that impossible. Don’t worry. It is coming! If there’s anything you’d like me to cover let me know! #ev#electriccar#electricvehicle
A punch in the face of petrol cars, by #HannahRitchie in her newsletter.

For every dollar of petrol you put, you get just 20 cents’ worth of driving motion. The other 80 cents is wasted.
Now board an #ElectricCar. For every dollar of electricity you put in, you get 67 cents of driving motion plus 22 cents of energy recovered from regenerative braking. That means you get 89 cents’ worth out.
Here's an interesting piece by Rowan Atkinson on the Q. of whether you should buy a new #electriccar or continue to use your old petrol car a while longer:
its clear that an old car's #environmental costs are largely already accounted for so its only the marginal environmental costs of usage that we should factor into our considerations;
so rather than buy #electricvehicles, we might be better refusing the three year cycle of replacement, & then trying to drive less
Hey Fediverse. I think my next car will be an electric. Do you have one? Care to share pros and cons?
My daily commute is only 20 minutes each way. I have a garage to keep a car in at home. I rarely go farther than 50 miles away on the weekends, and we have a gas car in the household anyway. I live near DC so I want an enclosed vehicle to keep the weather out. I think I'm a good candidate. Please share your thoughts on electric cars. #DCLiving#ElectricCar#Car
We finally got my wife a new car, we had been down to a single car since January. We were able to charge it last night off of a regular wall plug and got 20% battery fill in 12 hours. That seems not so bad. The car comes with its own plug and cord which is awesome.
Still waiting for the electrician to come and install a 240 v outlet. There is a free level 2 charger in town that we can use as well while we wait.
I have a new car that’s electric. I’m a month in, and I’m hooked. Never going back to gasoline cars, particularly when I can charge at home using the solar panels so the energy is, well, free.
