Nov 10, from midnight to midnight, Bvlbancha Public Access will celebrate the #IndigenousGulf Stream - a 24-hour, fully public online media screening featuring, designed by, and produced by #Indigenous people in and of the Gulf South.
Festival grounds are centered around the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center, the Terrebonne Parish Main Branch Library, the Courtyard Marriott, and the South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center located at 86 Valhi Blvd., Houma, LA 70360.
Look for the Bvlbancha Collective banner hanging up in the back of a white popup tent in the Choctaw Dr vendor lineup, by the Marriott, behind the library.
Along with the expansive Trade Table offerings, we will have a lot of nerdy garage sale stuff, including vintage video games, board games, comic books, etc.

It is absolutely amazing to me that @decolonialatlas is putting out that huge #Indigenous map and smack dab in the center of their promo is #Bvlbancha.
That spelling of Bulbancha/Bvlbancha is directly from those of us who created the @bvlbanchacollective, to honor the heritage of our founding members, many of whom are also Mvskoke. There are many ways to spell Bvlbancha in anglicized letters, and all are correct.
@decolonialatlas And to further explain some of the #IndigenousGulf organizations that have been popping up with the #Bvlbancha spelling, like the radio project and the public access project, that's because Collective members helped start those projects lol! We get around 💖🔥
Thanks to the National Performance Network Lagniappe Fund, we have funding for a multitude of $400 artist commissions (#CommsOpen) for members of Gulf South Indigenous communities, or Indigenous people with lived experience in the Gulf South to create new or license existing art for the 2023 Indigenous Gulf Stream.
Contributors must be either 1) members of US Gulf South Indigenous communities, or 2) Indigenous people with lived experience in the US Gulf South.
As hurricanes, fires, pandemics, and other disasters increase in intensity and frequency, the insights, visions, and experiences the authors in this book share offer a valuable road map to meet the climate crisis head on, struggle for a just recovery when disasters do hit, reimagine our relationships to each other and the planet, and as the Zapatistas taught civil society, “Don’t seize power, exercise it.”
@AliceMarshall wanted to uplift an article in the same vein as this book that my friend Chenier Kliebert cowrote for more of a textbook style book about this topic;
