As an EU citizen, I'm using my right to deletion to get to remove my data for me.

Here is the link to the form: https://policies.stackoverflow.co/data-request/

I requested a copy of my data for my personal backup and to confirm if they fulfilled my request.

@luca thank you for finding that; submitted and confirmed.

@luca @konstantin I’m being slightly devils advocate here, but also genuine question:

Stack overflow is designed that the questions and answers are shared resources edited by multiple people, like Wikipedia. Would you support someone being able to force Wikipedia to delete their past contributions if they so chose?

I guess the difference is that SO puts the names of all contributors next to a question (created by, edited by), whereas Wikipedia only puts those in the history.

@amyworrall @luca @konstantin I believe there is precedent that mods can, on request, remove a post's association with a user. So the contents stays up, but it's no longer attributed to its original author.

@swaldman @amyworrall @konstantin That violates the CC BY license under which the author posted them.

@luca @swaldman @amyworrall @konstantin Yep this is what I'm thinking! So you can do a DMCA takedown as they're breaking your copyright by failing to meet the terms of the license.
