@SFRuminations the 1962 capsule on the left looks shockingly accurate, compared to an Apollo or Soyuz capsule.
Also I immediately recognized Fafhrd & the Grey Mouser even before zooming in to see Fritz Leiber's name. Cool!
@SFRuminations I think "Ill-met in Lankhmar" was my first Leiber, followed by "Ship of Shadows". The latter impressed me a lot more & I'm sure it was what led me to seek out his earlier short fiction - which was a third thing altogether. Later, encountering King's short stories (& having not yet read much Matheson), I thought 'wow this feels like Fritz Leiber' & my friends were all 'who's that?'
@SFRuminations I still get chills thinking about Ship of Shaodws. It's worth not spoilering the experience, so I'll just say that it really has the feel of a horror story in places, though it's solidly SF. Powerful emotional hit, at least for me, & even in my early teens. As an older adult it hits even harder.
