I can't believe I've never featured a laserdisc game before?? Anyway, "Firefox" serves as an origin story for the Firefox web browser, which sees the plucky application commanding a hypersonic jet and duking it out with the likes Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer. Wow!

... okay, terrible joke aside, it's based on a Clint Eastwood movie I never heard of where I think he, like, flies a jet, or something

I feel like this sort of game works best with animated footage (Dragon's Lair, Road Blaster/Road Avenger), since there's less of an "uncanny" vibe to the whole thing. Still, "Firefox" looks pretty impressive for its time, esp. compared to stuff like "Astron Belt" (below)

Gif from "Astron Belt" (gameplay, full-motion video). The player controls a sprite image of a spaceship that is (kinda crudely) superimposed on laserdisc video of space ships. The player "shoots" one of the space ships, which immediately causes the laserdisc video to alternate to a gigantic (stock) explosion.

When you beat the game, you're promised "a cold one" when you get home. If this game came out twenty years later, I would assume this was a Homestar Runner reference

@dinosaurgerms I'm so suggestible . It's impossible to read that now without hearing it in StrongBad's voice.
