I have gone three days without coffee - not a dare or any stupid health reason, just kind of dumb happenstance - and I would like to say this is stupid and any tosser who might recommend this is wrong and probably malevolent.
Had a few replies asking about or suggesting headaches occurring when this happens to them, and, no, I am not experiencing any actual physical repercussions other than general malaise and everything sucking and feeling more pointless than it already does normally.
@GrimmReality when caffeine was purged from my systems I only had a headache for a day maybe? After that I was just...off. People irritated me for no particular reason, everything smelled strong and dumb and I felt like a supernatural creature with a magical awareness of caffeinated drinks and would stare at them as if from across the bar, flirtatious and wistfully. That stopped after a few months I think.
I still love the smell of coffee and teas but the draw isn't there anymore. Not any particular interest or disinterest. I occasionally have a caffeinated beverage now and it's kind of distracting how effective caffeine is.
