@nicksalt@ramsey@trochee@blogdiva@SallyStrange Dawkins severely embarrassed himself a year or so back when he let himself be embroiled in a debate about whether non-white Indigenous knowledge was valid (he thought it wasn't).
I don't know if there's a word for the concept that the more brilliant someone is in a very narrow and tightly focused field, the more completely out to lunch they are in every other sphere of knowledge... but if there isn't, I suggest calling it the "Dawkins effect".
