I am told that studying the History of Christianity was a stupid thing to do

@PeachMcD@StillIRise1963 Yeah, that's the problem. People don't realize that what's stupid is this system where studying is an obscene financial burden. It shouldn't be. It wasn't. It isn't anywhere else. It's LITERALLY just here.
It's a running gag in Spain that every other person has an art history degree that is professionally useless - but it doesn't saddle them with perpetual debt.
@StillIRise1963 I think one of the most heartbreaking things for me since coming here has been realizing that a lot of the intelligent and educated people of this country have a beat-down attitude, like whipped dogs resigned to wanting nothing more than money and maybe a bit tranquility and obscurity. Such limited worldviews.
@Aviva_Gary They're so fucking evil. They're adding insult to injury by creating stifling debt for those they're duping. Just laughing their way to the bank.

If people are worried about their own security they are less likely to take risks Entrepreneurship will be funded by established capital so they can influence and take over
Injustice will go unchecked so as not to make waves.
People will hold others down or pull those in the rung above to increase their own security
Just using the word rung is part of the system
The focus is on money and not humanity to justify the inhumanity of it all
You know this but it feels good to say it
