Being the tight-fisted outfit they are, they snapped up a load of 737 Max just after the second MCAS crash when Boeing could hardly give the crappy planes away. Ryanair is keen not to call these shonky aircraft "737 Max", rather "737-8", lest customers might be put off travelling in their deathtraps.
