There's an obituary of Jennell Jaquays in today's NYT. This sort of surprised me, to see her recognized outside of the RPG fandom. I think it's merited for many reasons, I just didn't expect it!
@mcnees I had never heard of Guillain–Barré syndrome before so I looked it up. Even though there's a decent survival rate, it still sucks and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, and it sucks she wasn't one of the lucky ones.
@flatchulancelot Yeah, it's one of those conditions I very occasionally hear mentioned, usually as a complication associated with infections, that I just hope I never have to learn more about.
