@georgetakei i think the technology could be very interesting and helpful to people. The problem is corporations running it. I do not remember where but I read an article a while back about an implant that helped people with a certain type of blindness see. Then the company that made it went out of business and as people's implants broke they were unable to get them upgraded or fixed, leaving them suddenly blind again. That seems particularly cruel. More proof healthcare needs to not be about making money.
@georgetakei I don’t like defending Elon but this chip is meant to help quadriplegics or people with ALS and I have a hard time rooting against that. Neuralink’s end goals are definitely creepy but if the chip helps those who are really sick or disabled then it feels pretty bad to rail against it.
