@kev Those of us who really want dark mode have our workaround. I personally use the Dark Reader for websites which don't have one, now including yours 😜
@velten_dev I’ll reimplement it at some point, I just needed to strip it all out so I had a blank canvas to work from. I just need to think it through.
@kev miss you guys, too. Been hella busy with life but, I've been lurking around. 😜 Couldn't let you talk shit about dark mode without knocking you off your light mode high horse. 😂
@jle I’ll reimplement it at some point, I just need to think about the best colour scheme. The contrast is so difficult if you want to use colours with dark mode.
@kev I swear my eyes are way better off using light mode instead of dark mode.
With dark mode it seems that characters are overall just blurry + sites seem more inconsistent (i.e. some dark modes are nice, some suck - white mode websites are generally just fine)
@kev I always hated offering the option. I always liked to put thought into my color scheme and the last thing I want is to have two when I probably only look at one of them anyway.
@keenan I’ve been thinking about it for a while, because it really was crap. Your site was actually the impetus for the change. I was reading it in bed last night and thought “my retinas haven’t burned out. Screw it, imma get rid of dark mode…”
@kev@keenan I still think offering the choice is useful for those that need it, but arguably more people legitimately have trouble with dark mode than do with light mode.
...I say that so assuredly but I should look that up...
Anyway I'm the opposite, I'm often designing in dark mode and when I flip it into its light mode I'm all ugh, I like the light version a lot less! But I think I shouldn't go dark-only.
@kev@keenan I take having the option as an accessibility feature for others that require it rather than whether I think it looks good on ‘my site’ but obviously site is yours and your choice 👍🏽
Perhaps may be default Light mode but with a toggle for those with visibility issues that read your site on the web?
