Doing a prune of remote profile avatars and headers for old accounts and it says it will take 4 hours :deku_aaaa:. I haven't done this once since the instance was originally setup over 6 months ago lol but I think I will have to set up a job to automate this like @mastohost does so I can keep media usage down. Overall this will only save 50-60 cents a month on R2 costs but hey why not 🤷
Sometimes I wonder if it is best practice to leave avatars and headers so they don't have to be reprocessed and downloaded again if the account pops up, esp via relays.
Is 50 cents a month worth keeping the memory and CPU's, as well as bandwidth, less stressed, esp for smaller instances with active users.
