I've recently downloaded the remake of #HouseOfTheDead on Switch.
Only ever played Typing of the Dead: Overkill (which came with House of the Dead: Overkill attached), so this will be interesting for sure.
#deusexmankinddivided I've never really got into the sequel with Adam Jensen. Now that Embracer has bought the franchise, there's a good chance they can finally bring his story to an end.
Basically someone took the idea of "What if the first Resident Evil game was a First Person Shooter?" and ran with it.
Only: It's a lot more than that. It mixes elements from every major RE title into itself and becomes something truly fascinating. There are even unlockable modes and challenges. And it's less than 5 bucks? Huge recommendation!
#CastlevaniaAdvanceCollection - of course, I had to get it to play it on Steam Deck.
Includes three Metroidvanias and #Castlevania : Dracula X, the Super Nintendo variant of Rondo of Blood, which is a completely different game.
Too bad there's still no PC release of the PC Engine Rondo of Blood or Symphony of the Night.
#CardShark is one of those games that fascinates me tremendously - until I have to play it myself.
Yeah, I know why I chose the the lowest difficulty. Still...artstyle and writing is excellent. #SteamDeck
Took a look at #Brotato and to my big surprise, it doesn't rip off #VampireSurvivors, but has enough own ideas to make it worthwhile. I just assumed it was a clone with a different setting.
#SteelRising was a complete dud. Even if I would play Soulsborne games, this seems to be an especially boring one with uninspired level design. Had it refunded on Xbox.
After I got rid of #HighOnLife because of the recent Roiland BS, I installed the #GuardiansOfTheGalaxy game. Heard good things about it, so I will give it a shot.
It takes about half an hour of intro videos before you get to play the prologue level.
I'm sticking to it for now, can't help to question though, why they had to rework a fun combat system into, well, this.
Do not make the same mistake and think this plays like an Arkhamverse game. Because that is only partially true. #Batman
#RyseSonOfRome - been awhile since I played this. Last time I finished the game on PC, now I'm using #GamePass to play through on Series S.
Still looks pretty good for an Xbox One launch title.
Yes, it's shallow and repetitive, but I don't care. It's Ancient Rome and that period of history is underused in video games. #XboxSeriesS
#FarCry5 - they've updated it with a new patch for current gen consoles, so it now runs in 60 fps on Series S.
I've finished it once before. Heard it's now better regarded as Part 6.
#NightmareReaper, on the other hand, is excellent. Rogue-lite FPS gameplay with high degrees of customization, fantastic sound design and a soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult? Oh, yes, please.
Yesterday I started playing #RedDeadRedemption again.
Man, this game is 13 years old and still looks terrific for a 7th generation console title. Less the NPCs and models - but the landscape and the lighting is still incredible.
What a game. Already reminds me why I loved it so much the first time.
On Switch I started #TheMessenger years ago and kinda abandoned it at some point. I'm starting fresh on PC. Probably a good #SteamDeck title. Works really well with the Steam Contoller.
Well, with the sequel out, I can try my hands yet again on #DarkestDungeon.
One of the most stylistic games catered to my taste, that so far has turned me off playing with its mechanics. It's basically the #Bloodborne of turnbased RPGs.
#HROT was released last Tuesday, so I took the opportunity and finished the game. The final boss is...not what I expected, but man, was it funny and worthwhile.
It's a great little title, a technical marvel (completely built in Pascal of all things), has humour, and plays smoothly. Give it a go. #Steam#SteamDeckhttps://youtu.be/QXPojFolKJo
#CircusElectrique is a well presented game, that has a gameplay loop which I can see get tiring over a longer period of time. Still satisfying. but I'm wondering how long it lasts.
To my biggest surprise (and that's not a spoiler, you learn this right at the start of the game): This is actually a semi-sequel to #Warhammer40kSpaceMarine, taking place on the same planet after the events of the game.
With its Edgelord-esque mentality and the mind of a teenager in the 90's this is actually a pretty accurate representation of what that demographic would've found "cool" and "rad" at the time.
Many of its flaws can also be attributed to said idea. I just hope the game won't stretch this excuse too far.
It was made by @duskdev 's brothers. You could very much call it "Resident Evil inside Sesame Street", because that's basically what it is: Instead of zombies, you fight puppets of an educational TV show. The game is completely bloodless (your weapons fire oversized letters), but it's also heavy on puzzles and decisions, and, surprisingly, atmosphere. It's apparently brief, but designed for multiple playthroughs. #games#SteamDeck
Boredom comes early one, when you realize, how few animations there are and how little variety there is in the fighting: No real power-ups, repeating enemies. Twice the game got me to chuckle and those I give them.
But man...no unlocks? No voice acting in the cutscenes? This had so much potential...
Hopefully the sequel fares better later this year.
Another great boomer shooter I tried my hands on is #TurboOverkill.
It nails that retro #Cyberpunk aesthetic, is very bloody and fast.
Technically still in Early Access, but they added much content since and it can be enjoyed over three episodes. #steam
I've finally sat down to finish the first #Contra game.
Yes, I didn't have an NES when I was young and no, even nowadays I don't own a copy of the original. Nowadays I'm sticking to such ways like the #ContraAnniversaryCollection.
