The oligarchs who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us so they can become more powerful.

They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see where all the wealth and power have gone.

Don't fall for it.

r_2one_oneself,

@rbreich are we really that cynical as a society; we know this... but bread and circuses create enough comfort for us to for us to literally and figuratively melt on the couch to our thermodynamic heat death? Where can humanity get mental health help and avoid a spanking from mother nature? Each other?...

@rbreich
The individuals who exploit society for their own financial gain have a vested interest in pointing people's scrutiny away from them.
They point fearful people at some mystical imaginary group of elite individuals by seeding conspiracy theories and employing profiteering grifters to spread paranoia, when all the time the real oppressors are hiding in plain sight.

@rbreich True. They always creates an imagined reality for us and keeps us away as much as possible from reality through laws, rules, policies and so many legal frameworks. Reality is nature and we are so away from it

That's the way it's been going since the beginning.
The media reach gives them even more power.
But the crowed make it too easy for them!

@rbreich Id recommend spending some of your wealth helping trans people, artist, and open-source software engineers making this possible.

Lets not beat around the bush, you have done well, and could have a massive impact on many people's lives and still live comfortably till you pass.

You grew a lot through your career, you make more money when you just side with the fact that weapons are beautiful-- so I respect you for that.

@rbreich Good God you are a cartoon.

wrathoskvro,

@rbreich I'm afraid most people already did fall for it unfortunately.

"Consider the fascinating perspective of the recently deceased Boris Berezovsky... After looting billions in national wealth and elevating Vladimir Putin to the presidency, he overreached himself and eventually went into exile. According to the New York Times, he had planned to transform Russia into a fake two-party state—one social-democratic and one neoconservative—in which heated public battles would be fought on divisive, symbolic issues, while behind the scenes both parties would actually be controlled by the same ruling elites. With the citizenry thus permanently divided and popular dissatisfaction safely channeled into meaningless dead-ends, Russia’s rulers could maintain unlimited wealth and power for themselves, with little threat to their reign. Given America’s history over the last couple of decades, perhaps we can guess where Berezovsky got his idea for such a clever political scheme."

The Republican party has been the Walmart by which the Oligarchy bought our democracy while they distract with culture wars. None of which matters because the Earth is basically a boiled egg.

It's madness.

The Cookie Parable (a variation)

"A dozen cookies are available to be shared.

The Rich Corporate Owners grab all 12 of the cookies, leaving only crumbs, then convince the Working Classes that the "Others" (Black people, LGBTQ people, etc…) have stolen the Working Classes' share of the cookies.

The Rich Corporate Owners laugh as the Working Classes begin fighting amongst themselves instead of realizing that it was the Rich Corporate Owners who stole all the cookies."

Sorry, no. The divisions exist even without the oligarchs.

Fuck ALL Republicans. Fuck the Oligarchs too.

Claiming that the latter is responsible for the former is letting the former get off scot free.

@rbreich Exactly.

That's why they funnel money at hatred and bigotry so people get kept busy fighting amongst the workers and not against the oligarchy.
