Zoom is now mandating you use their service w/o an opt-out clause to Forced Arbitration. They also state in their Terms of Service (TOS): You and Zoom will arbitrate certain claims instead of going to court and that you will not bring class-action claims against Zoom.
I want people to realize as more and more corporations use #ForcedArbitration, we are losing an important component of democracy.

tyil,

@MoiraEve I want people to realize that if they were using Zoom in the first place, they don't give a single shit about freedom, privacy, or fundamental rights. They care only about the simplest (and financially cheapest) means to get a very short-term goal. They couldn't care less about anything beyond that.

@MoiraEve

I can see this for corporate clients.
And agree.
In international contracts, arbitration is quite common (e.g. international chamber of commerce as arbiter,) though.

But how about private users?
How about employees?

I see big issues with the revised section 10 of the ToS (Apr. 1st, 2023.) and the unconditional transfer of usage rights, also for LLM training.
