@mentallyalex I have played Fallout 4 and New Vegas. The main drawback to being ghouled seems to be the loss of olfactory senses and the need for that "juice".
@Adam_Cadmon1 oh is that what the juice does? I thought it was some kind of stimulant because of the wasteland. Like, the latent radiation or something.
I need to play these games. I have them, I just...I get busy.
@Adam_Cadmon1 So I've bought the games, they are sitting here and have been dormant for a few years.
I have a friend who was a massive Fallout fan and has played through the franchise several times.
I'm not exactly a "gamer" but I love stories. Fallout, Skyrim, Borderlands, etc. are all pseudo-familiar at least in part because of YouTube though I did playthrough Skyrim.
I was a dedicated fan of a Baldur's Gate playthrough I found and would message a friend constantly as I was discovering the story. :blobcatgiggle:
Me at 2am - "OH MY GOD CAN YOU BELIEVE!"
Alex Friend - "Alex, I've played the game through four times!"
Me - "YEA! BUT HOW CAN SHE?! AND NOW SHE'S GONNA! :ablobcatreekeyboard: "
AF - "..."
Me - "So you hooked up with Gale right?"
AF - "Stop texting me in the middle of the night!"
@mentallyalex lol Skyrim is like that for me. Such a deep an interesting game. Easy to become the character you're playing and immerse yourself in that world. Heck, I may end up playing both Fallout 4 and Skyrim again now. I especially like the Dwarven architecture in Skyrim. Both intimidating and spectacular.
@Adam_Cadmon1 Oh my gosh, me too! My first "play through" I suppose you'd call it, I finished the dwarven questlines and really didn't want to.
Like many when video games took off in popularity I had contemplated trying my hand at developing them. I knew a few in the industry and really backed off once I learned how difficult a hill it was to climb. For every one Todd Howard there are about a million not Todd Howards. :blobcatlaugh:
Developing video game franchises seems like being an author on hardmode. Like, you have the same problems authors have, with a more niche environment, more restrictions, and fewer friends. :blobcatgiggle:
