What, exactly, does the US, Australia, the UK, Germany, Canada, etc, think will happen with their blocking funding to the #UNRWA What do they want to happen? They fired the people accused (nothing proven, just allegations) and they've started an investigation?
They are contributing to genocide. We are all guilty if we don't stop our governments from this insanity
@Mary625 Continued arms deals to Israel, I imagine is the goal. Possibly to avoid what compromising information Pegasus gathered from spywaring our political class. Both?
Probably both. But this is absolutely fucked up shit. I don't even care how someone feels about the war, the genocide, the attack on the 7th of October. This is an act that contributes to genocide
@Mary625 We have a ruling class ready to suicide the world with climate change, so that the money can flow. They're no doubt going to supply whatever ethnic cleansing that keeps their change purse full.
The only new thing is how little they care to hide it.
The even scarier thing about this is to consider what the US is hiding that costs billions, the respect of it's people and possibly even the election...
Just how is this worth it?? He's paving the way for a country, economy and climate ruining authoritarian to take the stage. The cost is all of us. He's throwing us all under the bus.
@Mary625 I am totally disgusted with this move. It may be naive of me, but I had hoped the change of government in Australia would lead to a more humanitarian approach to the plight of Palestinians.
It seems they are as much in thrall to the insidious evil of the Zionista Regime.
@Mary625 We have no political party worth spit, anymore. They're all rubbish. Voting is compulsory in Aus. For the first time in my more than 4 decades of voting, I wonder what it has brought me...aside from disillusionment.
@GhostOnTheHalfShell@Mary625
Was anyone listening to CakesAgainstGenocide??? If you think calling your senators/politicians does anything, you've drunk the Kool Aid. They'd love you to waste your time thinking that works. A General Strike is the only NON violent method. People think that's too much of a sacrifice?
12 people in an aid organization are accused of being involved in an attack that killed 1200 people, so OMG WE GOTTA CUT THEIR FUNDS AND STOP THEM.
But the people bombing civilians for months and killing tens of thousands, just accused of genocide in a case confirmed plausible by the fuckin Hague-- that's totally cool fine and dandy, carry on, give them more billions?
Has this situation not jumped every moral and ethical shark possible? How is anyone still supporting any part of this?
@Mary625
I think we’ve been guilty for generations and our institutions and layers of the technostructure carry sunk costs, large egos, and ironclad motivated reasoning.
Those are usual culprits for why we can’t have nice things.
@paninid@Mary625 We just reached the points where they don't care if public sees/thinks they're evil, immoral, unethical & basically bloodthirsty demons - documented on live vids & more. We've reached stages where international immunity towards USA, Israel, UK, Canada, AU & more think live ethnic cleansing should be accepted by global citizens.
FUCK NO.
Colonial government politicians deserve to be blown the fuck up. Citizens deserve better than sellout colonial govts.
I've checked myself only 3 or 4 times since joining up. Lately I've realized I'm becoming steadily more aggressive in my opposition to this and I'm OK with that.
The time is near when people will ignore resistance and rebellion, and go straight for revolution.
That's the thing. They're barely bothering to hide it anymore. They must think they don't need to care what we think, that they can just get away with it. Confident that we can't stop them.
But they're deranged. Their judgment is so twisted they're not qualified to understand what's going on around them. They might be good at war, divide and conquer, regime change, torture, and so on, but they don't UNDERSTAND what they're doing or what they're really up against.
If the support from USA and other countries is shrinking, there will be a change.
It's a middle- or long-term strategy though and won't have impact fast enough for many Palestinian victims.
Nevertheless, reduced arms and financial supply for Israel is fundamental to reduce Israel's abilities.
The ruling by the ICJ should indeed have the impact that every country cuts ties with Israel, at best even impose extensive sanctions.
But you know politicians ...
