Where are the people earning money with ? Or is there maybe even someone who founded their own company with it or has a ? Could you might share your story? How is this software financed (donations, support subscription, premium features, etc.), how are you doing, what are the real issues you have experienced?

My experience with #mobian so far on the #Librem5 compared to #PureOS Byzantium:

  • Most applications run much faster
  • The repository is obviously much more up to date
  • The modem wakes up much slower for incoming phone calls while in suspend. Some of the phone calls were not shown in the UI at all.
  • The micro SD Card reader has similar issues with suspend as with PureOS. Sometimes after supend the card can not be read anymore.

But right now I really love @mobian it is impressively snappy ❤️

If I understand this correctly, this should not affect me. I was using the weekly build which is based on Debian trixie. I can't find which kernel it is exactly uname just says 6.6-librem5

Ok seems like I just fucked up (my fault) Pure OS on my which was pre installed on the phone. So I will install a fresh distribution. What is your opinion: Should I use again because it (maybe) works best or should I try ? Has anyone tested them recently?

@crft But is Gnome mobile in a somewhat "stable" state already? I use the Librem 5 as my main device.

@tomasoqvist Are you using this phone as your main device? And is the crashing of the modem obvious? The modem on my L5 on PureOS sometimes crashes but the indicator icon at the top bar doesn't change. So I check my phone and it looks fine but I don't receive any incoming calls.

I just noticed that I am using the now for 7 months now as my main device and since 6 months I don't carry a backup device with me anymore even for business trips I only used the Librem 5.

@tseitr If I just want to look something up I use Gnome Maps. For navigation the only app I know which really works is Pure Maps.
However, GPS on the Librem 5 is still not fast and super accurate so I find it hard to really use it as a navigation system in the car.

@leimon Yes, absolutely. Using the Librem 5 is still a lot of work and not trivial at all. My biggest issue is that it loses the mobile data connection way to often. For example during train rides or after waking up from suspend. But as you already said, I also don't plan to go back.

We have a PC at work running #Linux which controls an important detector and I was wondering if anyone ever made an update so I quickly checked.
The Linux Kernel is 2.6.18.

#PicPlanner Version 0.5.0 is out now on #Flathub.

The experience on the #Librem5 or in general on touch devices should be much better now.

What is new:

  • Using #GNOME runtime 45
  • The UI is much cleaner
  • French language support is added
  • The app should be recognized as mobile friendly
  • A lot of bug fixes and improvements

Big thanks to @devrtz for a lot of code improvements and to @ireneethirion for the French translation

Me: I have already too many hobbies and I have a lot of work to do.
Also me: Started to play around with just to see how a game engine works and now I have a 3D FPS controller which can run, jump, sprint, crouch and has a climbing system integrated and I already started to animate a character in and set up a small game world where I right now test some water shaders...
Why am I like this... I will never be able to finish this project.

#Librem5: Did anybody manage to move the home directory to the micro sd card and mount it to /home? Since I did this my sd card sometimes switches from read-write to read-only. I have to reboot my phone now multiple times a day because I don't get what is going on...

@linmob Thanks, yes normally suspend is on. I am right now trying how it behaves without suspend. But it is an annoying error because it happen only occasionally and so far I can't reproduce it on purpose.

@governa I have no idea how refunds work if you have ordered something from Purism but the company is definitely NOT a scam. The word scam is simply not correct because I am writing this with a #Librem5. I don't know why people have to exaggerate so much all the time. Yes, maybe they have issues with refunds and of course this is not funny but the company is obviously not a scam. Just look at their GitLab repository or just look how many people have a Librem 5...

Immer wieder kommt die Nachfrage nach Akku-Nachbauten.

Ich habe kaum Nachbauten (2-3), verwende in der Regel Originale.

Einer der Nachbauten hat nach nichtmal 6 Monaten seinen Geist aufgegeben - natürlich unterwegs.

Ist mir bei originalen Akkus noch nie passiert.

@norberteder Hab genau die selben Erfahrungen gemacht mit Canon Akkus. Ich hatte mir früher mehrere Fremdhersteller Akkus gekauft. Waren alle deutlich schlechter als das Original und haben nur Probleme gemacht. Ich kaufe seit dem nur noch die Originalakkus. Einige der Originalen sind mittlerweile seit über 10 Jahren in betrieb!
