I have some Shortcuts automations on iOS that speak text, and sometimes the voice is very quiet, and sometimes it shouts at me at full volume, and adjusting the device volume has no effect on it. Well, you can tell Siri, “Set your volume to 40” (the number is a percentage of the max volume), and that affects the automation speech level. Problem solved!

I made a very very crude extinct animal guessing game.
Basically you can either run the code manually by following the instructions or try the compiled exe file which is the same thing.
Biggest known bug is its case sensative. Im new to #python and couldn't get my head around how to fix that

Basically you type the species name and itll tell you the common point in the evolutionary history.
For example if its Triceratops then Carnotaurus would give dinosauria as a clue

Say what you will about Apple’s App Store (and there’s lots to be said, for sure), but getting a reminder email that tells me an annual subscription to an app is about to expire in a month, and that also shows not only what the price will be but what I paid the last time – and provides a cancellation option that is literally two taps away – is a great feature.

Signed, I just noticed an app I haven’t used much has hiked the price up by 30%. No thanks.

Can't stay quiet about this as much as I don't like namedropping or any kind of blaming even when there is a reason. But there is this one Mastodon admin who refuses to take any responsibility of his server. He literally said on other social site: "I'm not doing anything about it, just writing this comment is too much trouble for that shit."

I confonted him and said: "So you want to give free server capacity to criminals and spammers. Because quite a few vulnerabilities have come out since 4.1.4. So you want to let the spambots continue their work in peace? Good luck with that 🫡"

He answered "Yes" and blocked me. This is disturbing to say the least. Don't know how to react.

You should probably defederate mastodo.fi.

Finally received my Oura sizing kit. I am unsure. Number ten fits best both in my index fingers, other fingers are too slender for any size. Number nine is too tight for the indexes. Gotta sleep over this.

I’ve been using Mailchimp forever but their prices seem to go up by $100 every other month these days and I’m not really using many of their features. Yet our web apps are pretty tied in with their APIs so changing is non trivial.

Anyone have a recommendation of an excellent alternative with personalized campaign features (e.g. convert kit)?

@almostobsolete @mkennedy I had to integrate Brevo with a service, and the quality of their API documentation was appalling. The service itself worked ok once I got past the errors, omissions, and inaccuracies.

Kauheen vaivan nähnyt alt-tekstien kirjoittamisessa ja kopioinnista ja sit nyt huomasin ettei Wordpressissä toimi koko vitun alt-teksti. Näkyy se inspectillä img:n ympärillä olevassa a:ssä mut ei se oo oikein. Ja sen nyt ilmeisesti vaan on niin, koska lightboxeissa on sillein. Vaikka ottaa lightboxit pois niin silti ei toimi. Ehkä vika on tai ei ole teemassa. Valitin silti teeman supportiin.

@rolle @ukuli @jhattara @nemeciii @kallekn @bhasic Mä olen tehnyt aika monta vuotta ensisijaisesti PHP:llä hommia, enkä ihmettele lainkaan, että sitä parjataan. : )

Mutta edelleen se on kyllä aivan ylivoimainen valinta, jos esimerkiksi jaetulle serverille pitää pienellä vaivalla saada jonkin verran toiminnallisuutta aikaiseksi.

@rolle @nemeciii @ukuli @jhattara @kallekn @bhasic Joo, kyllä PHP:llä pystyy tekemään isojakin asioita, ja suurta luotettavuutta vaativia. Ei olisi mun henkilökohtainen valintani (monistakin syistä, joista ison osan lasken kyllä kielen ja myös ekosysteemin puutteiksi, mutta toki ovat osin makuasioitakin), mutta se ei tarkoita, etteikö silläkin pärjäisi, jos tarvitsee (tai haluaa).

Meta taisi tosin tehdä oman versionsa, kun perus-PHP ei ihan siinä skaalassa pärjännyt.
