I have never seen that before. One of the squirrels is laying down on the top of our fence, with one.. paw? leg? hanging down. Just like cats do lol

@WTL I didn't know the numbers, but I think it makes sense to continue with the Loblaws boycott:

Edit for clarity: we were chatting about rotating boycotts, not giving up :)

"The largest one, Loblaws, and its affiliate stores, control about 42% of the retail grocery market in Canada.

Loblaws controls 42%, and, by comparison, the largest grocery retailer in the United States controls about 11%. "

My dad just posted this picture to talk about some city work. All I see are all those awful manicured suburban lawns. Eww. (They hated all the natural front lawns around us haha)

The Conservatives are still quoting the "great Margaret Thatcher".

Incredible

Have you heard this from the Conservatives or your annoying family member?

"In a press release, the Conservatives argued that given their proposed tax break, the average Canadian family could save $670 this summer with people in Alberta saving the most at $955 per family."

To save that much, people would have to drive 37,000 kilometres during their holidays. 37,000 kilometres!!!!!

Ms. Elizabeth May: Madam Speaker, when we adopted by unanimous consent that we could meet until midnight, I did not put on the record, but I would like to now, that I think there should be nursing stations available for those of us who work midnight, night after night, and there should be very available places for at least quick naps to be able to continue our work. We do get elected to work. We work hard, but we should not put our lives at risk.

👏 Same for everyone else who has to work so much more because of this.

I'm so happy, I thought our robins might be scared now that we're spending time on the patio instead of the porch. But not at all, still as carefree as before! 🐦

We sleep later in the morning with my new schedule and got to Costco after the samples started. Noooooo. We like coming before samples because it's less crazy 😧

"The House could then sit until 12:30 a.m. on Monday, May 27, 2024."

So they're really going for a whole two months of extended sitting instead of two weeks heh. Maybe I should have waited until September for my assignment 💀

Mr. Alistair MacGregor: Madam Chair, with respect, the minister is been quite evasive. I am not talking about the Minister of Foreign Affairs. I am not talking about Israeli settlements abroad. I am talking about Canadians who may have broken the law here in Canada regarding the purchase of properties in the occupied Palestinian territories, which is being done here on Canadian soil.

I would like a specific answer to that specific question. That is not under the purview of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. That is under the purview of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada.

Merlin might be my favourite app ever. Just sitting outside, learning the songs of all the birds visiting us. It's the little things!

Also a bee is enjoying the little wood raft (.. it's just a branch) I added into the pie dish that I fill with water lol!

So the second neighbours have also been working on a patio in their yard, and we think some kind of pool with lights?! Anyway, they just installed three big speakers on their house and it might become a nightmare. They just put the radio so loud... Hopefully it's just the excitement?

I haven't always agreed with the NDP these past few years, BUT:

(Yesterday)

Mr. Jagmeet Singh (Burnaby South, #NDP):

Mr. Speaker, the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court is seeking arrest warrants against five senior Hamas and Israeli leaders. This is a step toward justice for Palestinians and Israeli victims of war crimes.

The Liberals promised to support the ICC when they voted for our motion in March, so will the Prime Minister and the Liberal government state clearly that Canada supports the ICC's work to hold all those responsible for crimes accountable?

I was really looking forward to having a nice patio, so I'm glad it's finally done!! (It was supposed to be finished last week, but a longer project before us, rain and a blown tire on the highway delayed them.)

But after going to bed at 5 am because of work, I didn't appreciate the machinery at 8:30 am, and the stone cutting at 4 pm when I was finally napping 😅

When we said "never again", we apparently meant "never again unless the victims aren't white and the people committing the genocide have oil".
