⌨️ What’s your favorite key switch? (For those not into mechanical keyboards, it’s an excellent rabbit hole to fall into.)

@thomasfuchs Gateron Baby Kangeroo are my favourite. Their tactile bump is “early” in the travel and their sound is more “clacky” than clicky.

General Motors is recalling 950 of its Cruise robotaxis citing defects to its driving system software. This comes one month after the company was stripped of its driverless car permits following a collision in San Francisco.

@TechDesk When a headline says “robotaxis were recalled” I imagine them driving themselves home. I wonder if any actually did.

So, lots of reports of abuse and bias on Mastodon today stemming from the Middle East conflict. Perhaps this heightened level of hostility derives from the fact this platform skews left, but these issues divide the left. It's kind of new for us. Whatever the cause, hate speech, antisemitism, islamophobia, racism and personal attacks are never called for and will probably get you blocked or banned. Let's commit to zero tolerance for this garbage. We're better than this. Be kind to each other.

@mastodonmigration @bishop @BernieWonIowa whilst there are clearly war crimes taking place on both sides the situation appears dangerously close to “the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group”.

I’m certain that many people are horrified by this, and by the western media and politicians’ willingness to turn a blind eye to it.
