Dropped some updates to selfh.st/apps this morning - tiles now have visible/clickable tags, URL properties have been added for sharing custom views with others, and I've added a ton of new project icons.

I'm completely open to feedback on future improvements, but probably won't consider adding any more details to the tiles to prevent them from becoming too cluttered.

I've now collected 4 of the 5 stones needed to complete the #smarthome protocol infinity gauntlet after deploying an #ESPHome device (#ratgdo) for the first time last night.

Once completed, I'll be able to decrease my home's electricity usage by 50% at the snap of my fingers.

The only question - what's the fifth stone???

I've been overwhelmed with the positive feedback from the community since last week's launch and have been trying to add projects as fast as the requests come in.

Two new features since launch: License details added to the project tiles and a "Recently Added" sort option for users to easily view projects added since their last visit.

Next feature on the list: RSS feed for newly added project notifications

@tyil The raw data is stored in a JSON file on GitHub and loaded by JavaScript upon request when the page loads. Not sure what you mean about access - the only functionality on the site that requires an account is commenting.

@tyil It's multifaceted - the data is stored on GitHub as a public place for others to access it/build their own tools with, and it also helps take the load off my infrastructure given the large influx of visitors to the site.

I'm self-hosting the site with Ghost, which provides account functionality for newsletter subscriptions and comments. It looks like Ghost's default message on the sign in page talks about doing so for full access, but selfh.st doesn't actually require it itself.

@thisismissem I initially tried it, but unfortunately Ghost doesn't render anything when the newsletter is sent via e-mail (unless I'm missing something?).

Although that isn't to say I can't replace it with an embed after sending for web viewers...

I once saw a post about a #selfhosted fitness/activity website similar to #Strava, but i cannot find it anywhere here nor on the web. Does anyone know? I think it supported uploading your track files for cycling, running and more.
