DDay. Of all the events you could think of, a politician diving out the commemorations for D Day has to be right up there. It's not shooting yourself in the foot, but sawing it off, putting it in a mixer and feeding it to pigs before jumping in the trough.
My son is 16 and cycled to work today. He couldn't have done this without decent cycling infrastructure finally being in place. Any politician lamenting cycle lanes and improved active travel does not get my vote. Unless they are from a mainstream party. Then they get placed at the bottom of preferences as a dyke against the far right flood. #reginaDoherty

@FirefighterGeek agree totally. The lower income are rightfully angry and being given paid-for representatives who harness that anger. But their funding comes from the wealthy who want to keep inequality. I just feel there will be a few awful years now until we wake up
