plot twist, the cameras are working after undoing most of my changes and successfully completing a couple of upgrade cycles.

the raspberry pi 2 W is a weird device though. It seems to have a bunch of special cases.

it’s annoying that raspberry pi cameras still require manual fiddling with config.txt files, special instructions and manual overlay installation to get them working. Very linux.

shot with: OMDS OM-1 mk 2, OM Zuiko 100-400mm @ 400mm, f7.1, ISO 400, 1/800th s. (effective 800mm)

Wasn't sure what exposure was going to work for these so I bracketed everything into 7 shots +/- 0.3 stops on either side of my target.

amazing experience yesterday. It was truly an awesome experience.

unexpected bonus: got to experience light waves (aka shadow bands) in the moments after totality. Weird atmospheric turbulence effect makes "wavy" ripples of light on the ground.
