The aurora put on quite a show Friday night! It was amazing to see the sky dancing with greens, purples, reds, and aqua lights! This is one of my favorites, taken at Flagstaff Lake in Eustis, Maine.
Ram Island Ledge Lighthouse always held a bit of mystery for me, since I could never get close to it, sitting out in Casco Bay on a rocky ledge. Thanks to my drone, I've been able to demystify it a bit. Here's a recent sunrise image of the lighthouse. https://rickberk.pixels.com/featured/morning-glow-at-ram-island-ledge-rick-berk.html
Was going through my archives yesterday looking for an image to try a new editing technique on, and found this one that I'd never edited before, from a trip to Yosemite back in 2012. I really need to get back there soon.
Tuesday evening was a beautiful evening to get out and see the rise of the Full Pink Moon. I chose to go to Boston to photograph it rising next to the Boston University Center for Computing & Data Sciences. It was stunning!
Another from the eclipse on Monday. Taken at Rangeley Lake, in Maine, during the totality for the main image. The other instances of the eclipse were composited in, in the position they were in at the time the image was taken. Each instance of the eclipse if 15 minutes after the previous instance. Prints available.
Today is National Solitude Day. No matter how social we are, a little peace and solitude is always beneficial to help us recharge. I was reminded of this image I made in the Tetons last fall, when this lone horse seemed perfectly content to be off by himself for a while.
