Anyone have Mac software recommendations for an app where I could draw a rectangle or shape with specific dimensions (say, 20 inch by 20 inch), and then allow me to print that, flowing it across multiple pages if needed?

@christianselig you need to type it in, like I did in the video. Type in 20 in and it’ll automatically switch to inches.

Where are custom keyboard command sets stored? I deleted FCP as I the SFX folder isn't anywhere on my Mac, but forgot to export my command set before deleting the app. Luckily I have a time machine backup, so if I would know where the command sets are stored I could find them! 😅

@cory yeah its annoying system settings on macOS doesn't have a way to change appearance by time. Seriously sucks in China where the sun goes down so early but the system still doesn't go dark…

@matt I'd like Apple to try making anything they feel they can make, then let users and the market decide if Apple has something worthwhile. I don't think this is a fanboy position, although I am a “fanboy", not that I don't have complaints or issues with Apple. I just don't see why they should be restricted from trying to create new products.

How much storage are people using on their Mac? 💻

I’ve outgrown 256 & 512 GB & feel I need at least 1 TB with my current usage. I don’t carry external SSD’s and prefer to keep all my files/photos on my device.

@BasicAppleGuy I’m almost out of 2TB on mine. shooting prores is not great for storage, so I’m actually going to be going back to HEVC for a bit until I can afford larger internal storage. I have a nas for archiving, so that won't be an issue, but it's really difficult using the same device for YT (hobby) as well as work documents.

So I’m doing something insane to save $500 on a new MacBook Pro 14” b/c of Seattle sales tax. I’m taking the train to fucking Portland. Because it’s $70 on the nice train plus maybe $20 in Ubers vs $552 in extra tax. Usually, I let the sales tax thing go but $550 was where I learned the line was for me to instead spend all day on a train.

I’ve been really bad at social media the last few months for lots of reasons, most mental health related, but is Mastodon stuck in the same idiotic debate about how the shot on iPhone aspect of Monday’s event is problematic and misleading b/c they used said iPhone alongside pro gear? B/c this is truly the dumbest outrage tech thing I’ve seen in months and months. Like it is genuinely insipid and we’re all dumber for even entertaining it.
