Hi fedi colleagues, let’s see if I can get #FediHired.

I was laid off from my previous role due to a slow burn company strategy of reducing expenses to improve margin and reach profitability. I survived the first layoff of 25%, and then multiple quarters after that, but eventually, the day after completing my largest project, my role was eliminated due to a change in strategic direction.

I am now seeking a bioinformatics or data science role in the life sciences / biotech.

Several people now have tagged me in the Mini arrow-lookin'-tail light thing.

You're correct that it bothers me but you're incorrect if you think the arrow part has much to do with it.

It's bothersome to me only because it's a combined brake and turn indicator!

I am surprised at folks who think the resemblance to an arrow pointing the wrong way is actually confusing: I find it extremely unlikely that people even parse the presence of the arrow over which side of the vehicle is flashing.

@TechConnectify Neither. Brake, because the middle top light is illuminated.

I did a hierarchical clustering analysis of San Francisco politically active groups based on their ballot measure endorsements. The results show which groups are more similar to one another.

I used to make my own "I Voted" stickers until 2020, when San Francisco's vote-by-mail option finally started adding stickers with mail-in ballots. I still kind of like my old design, though. https://docpop.org/2018/11/diy-i-voted-by-mail-stickers/

@docpop I took a stab at using nominal hierarchical clustering to empirically characterize the different political orgs in SF (since names don't seem to mean much).

TIL you can use special callout alerts in GitHub READMEs:

> My Important Message

will create a neatly formatted callout. Now wandering off to add this to all my #rstats readmes

It’s so punk and ‘beating them at their own game’ to use Nightshade or Glaze to make your artistic works poisonous to generative AI. As long as it is painstaking to detect and remove…
