paddirn,

Electric kettles are just easier to use and it’s the difference of what, 1 minute?

paddirn,

I hope so, because those are probably the only good traits I have.

paddirn,

I feel like he’s making these moves to try to bring in right-wing voters who say they care about immigration, but literally none of them will give a shit and they’ll still accuse him of being soft on immigration. All he’s doing is just pissing off people in his own party for no actual political gain.

paddirn,

Cool trick, do houses and rent next.

paddirn,

So is Ukraine supposed to micromanage how each piece of equipment is being used based on how each donor country feels about attacking Russia?

paddirn,

You vs the guy she said not to worry about

paddirn,

Guy, had a similar fear all growing up too, except that I was afraid it’d bite my butthole (no idea why there, but whatever), not sure how I ever got over it.

paddirn,

Cartels and oil companies going to get together and arrange for an accident to happen.

paddirn,

Class civil war being instigated by wealthy oligarchs who don’t really care how it happens, but they’re intent on bringing about a coup one way or another. So they amp up the chaos and division and will look to take advantage of it. Right-wingers are being fed a bunch of bullshit and they’re trying to deify Trump, one of the worst examples of a human being in history, and getting pushed to violence to protect a living piece of excrement.

The Justice Dept really needed to come down harder on Trump and everyone else involved in Jan. 6. They showed their cards then and what they’ve been planning all along, we shouldn’t gave given them a second chance.

I would agree with most of this, if that excess cost was actually going towards paying the workers better or animal welfare. However, the excess costs are there because, maybe for a brief period, the companies had to raise their prices due to legitimate issues stemming from Covid. When the supply issues cleared up and costs should’ve gone back down though, everyone just collectively decided, “Why should we make it cheaper? They’ll still pay.” So that extra money we’re paying is to give the execs and shareholders more money. It’s greedflation and the exploitation of workers continues.

Based on that though, we should punish companies where we can and stop going to fast food anyways, though given that prices also rose in the supermarket too, it’s like a drop in the bucket.

paddirn,

The inconsistent ‘O’s are kind of bothering me, but also I have no idea what this is referring to. Did the IDF start flying rainbow flags or something?

paddirn,

We had my Dad’s password info and after he passed, his Steam acct pretty much passed over to my brother, since he was the one always using my Dad’s account anyways. We also have family sharing up, so we all still get to share from most of his games anyways.

I do wonder what they’ll do after an acct is 50-100+ years old and it’s still being used. Will they at some point start tying it to your SS# or find some other way to tie it to specific people?

paddirn,

It’s cool guys, I asked ChatGPT and it said:

The term “AI bubble” suggests a speculative frenzy similar to previous bubbles in tech. While there’s certainly a lot of excitement and investment in AI, it’s unlikely to cause an economic crash on its own. However, if promises aren’t met and investments don’t yield expected returns, there could be adjustments in the market. AI’s impact is profound, but its realization takes time and nuanced understanding.

So we just might see an “adjustment”, no way this is a bubble.

paddirn,

Also, Gamer’s block. You want to play. You finally have the time to play. You have a pile of games that you’ve been wanting to get through, but you just can’t devote the time to it. It’s like a form of procrastination, except instead of procrastinating about chores/responsibilities, you’re procrastinating about your free time. In a way, some books/games kind of become a new “responsibility”, in that once you start them, you may feel obligated to continue. So then it becomes one more thing you “have” to do.

All first world problems, maybe not as high-stakes as Kanye’s problems, but problems nonetheless.

paddirn,

I think humans already have a weird ability to sort of assimilate tools and machines into our sense of self, such that the tools become an extension of our selves. The term tool embodiment came up when I tried looking up the phenomena and it seems to apply here. People with lost limbs can already feel fake limbs as a part of themselves, I think adding an extra thumb or whatever is child’s play.

I think the real question is, when are we going to start adding tentacles to ourselves?

paddirn,

That blows.

paddirn,

The money shot, if you will.

paddirn,

Their Wikipedia page is fun. Found out this gem:

“In 2000, the band raffled a one-night stand with Demetra Plakas at a London gig. The winner got to spend the night on the tour bus. Rolling Stone reported that Plakas and her bandmates decided “We’re not being hypocritical about rock & roll anymore. Rock & roll is prostitution.”

paddirn,

So the experiment was a success then? What are we still doing here? Are we supposed to be writing Hamlet II: Electric Boogaloo? 2 Hamlet 2 Furious?

paddirn,

How else are the toppings supposed to stay in place?

paddirn, (edited )

I’m guessing their defense/diversion from all this will be to claiming it was a rigged trial for political purposes and/or talking about other people committing crimes, so why is Trump suddenly getting punished for committing a fake crime?

paddirn,

Best we can do is a slap on the wrist and some very severe finger-wagging.

paddirn,

Yeah, I’m not sure that alot of what I felt lacking was really ever gonna be fixable with simple patches. It’s an “open world” game in that there’s alot of open space in the world, but otherwise everything was just on rails. It felt like a dated game that tried to do too much and what it did do, there were plenty of games that had already done it better that had been out for years.

I played through once, without dealing with many bugs (I had one crash the entire time), and haven’t really felt the need to try another full playthrough again. It looked pretty, but the game needed a massive overhaul of many of its systems.
