Aussie iced coffee for lunch, from Pie+Tart in #EastonPa. It’s coffee, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream. #Lunch or #SomethingLikeLunch.

Four-mile #run which kicked my butt pretty bad.

I was tired when I got home from work and was tempted by the cheap energy of a mini Mountain Dew BUT I meditated for 10 minutes instead, calmed my brain (my brain gets amped up when I get tired, ‘cause I can’t reign it in anymore), and then went for the run.

So now I’m even more tired, but it’s the good kind of tired and my brain settled down. #GeekFitness #Running

@coreysnipes Thanks! Typically, I remember to meditate a couple of times a week, but I've been very consistent for the last month or so, and it's helped a lot.

I like the Calm app for this; having daily guided meditations helps me 1) remember to do them and 2) helps with distraction. #meditation

Four-mile indoor run. It’s the first time I’ve run that long in … well, it’d been a while. Felt good though. #GeekFitness #ReturnToPhilmont

Starting the day off right ... by creating a new character for the #FalloutRPG. Now if only I had some Nuka Cola to go with it.

Who doesn't need a thermonuclear jolt of caffeine to go with their morning pork roll sandwich?

Having one of those moments where I'm sitting there, working, AirPods in my ears, cruising along, in the zone, getting things done, and then realize there's no music playing.

Because I didn't start the stream.

Yeah, it's been a long day.

#DnD5e shadow dragons are sad and depressing, and not in a cool, goth-like way like Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice.

Unlike #DnD3e, there's no shadow blend (total concealment in shadows), its breath weapon doesn't drain levels, and it can't summon shadows 3x per day.

And it doesn't have the spell-like abilities of the #DnD2e of mirror image, dimension door, non-detection, and shadow walk.

nukehavoc,
@nukehavoc@dice.camp avatar

The 5e version raises those killed by its breath weapon as shadows (ok, that IS cool) and can hide real good.

It also gets resistance to everything except force, psychic, and radiant damage when in dim light or darkness.

And ... that's about it. Time to homebrew something.

After a long weekend of camping, hiking, and driving with the scouts, I'm relaxing by doing a little campaign maintenance for #ElementalApocalypse and checking out #DeliciousinDungeon.

Great time in NYC this weekend with Scouts BSA Troop 3 but man, we walked a lot.

About 2-3 miles on Saturday was walking around camp on Staten Island (thanks for hosting us, William H. Pouch Scout Camp!)

The rest was hiking around Manhattan.

Damn, I'm tired.

Trying to resist the temptation to say “I’m behind on everything” because it implies there was a chance I could have completed the work in the time available.

And I couldn’t have.

The work is the work and it’ll get done when it gets done. Putting a bunch of pressure on myself to do the impossible isn’t helpful.

Growing up shows like Battlestar Galactica (the one from 1978) and Buck Rogers were in pretty constant rotation on the SciFi channel (pre SyFy rebrand, all brickbats to @nukehavoc). I liked the former enough to do record them all on VHS when the channel did a marathon. I was missing part of Take the Celestra for years because I fell asleep when I needed to change tapes.

@mackensen heh. I have only vague memories. Very vague memories. I think I’m good with that.

Mucking about with unboxing videos with Riverside.

I've got a nice adjustable arm and light, so I can do the overhead shots with my iPhone as the camera.

The biggest challenge so far is knowing when I'm actually in frame. Well, that and Riverside taking its sweet time to upload the last two second of video.

Fascinating story about how the Voyager 1 flight team was able to get the spacecraft communicating again, particularly the bit where corrupted memory forced them to move a key program. However, because no one memory module had room to run it, they had to split up the program across multiple nodes.

All with a 44-hour round trip delay to see if your code actually worked (22 hours there, 22 hours back).

And you thought dial-up was slow.

Vacation reading: The #Avengers vs #Xmen vs #Eternals crossover known as #JudgementDay. Released in 2022, it includes 38 comic books. Thankfully, #MarvelUnlimited has a reading guide that links to all of them (I only have about a third of the issues, as I only collect X-Men.

I’m also keeping track of the issues in my bullet journal, as it helps keep me focused.
