Thinking about scrolling these isometric rooms. Seems like you’d need to clip incoming blocks against existing ones that are in front of them … which is giving me a headache. Maybe a mask plane? Or even precalculate and dedupe clip masks per block at build time, but that might take a load of memory.

Early noodling on next thing. I wanted to do scrolling but I think it's out unless I target 1Mb chipram Amigas. Normal tile-based scrolling approaches won't work here (I've dug into the ScrollingTricks docs already, thanks) and it would need a big (160Kb?) dumb bitmap or three, which is ... limiting on a 512Kb machine.

NASv4 ponderings continue.

For reasons, I can't reuse my existing J4105 hardware.

None of the N100 mini PCs have room for extra drives. N100 motherboard build gets expensive because I need a case and PSU, and they use a lot more power too apparently.

So maybe a mini with a dual SSD enclosure hanging off USB? Hardware RAID ones are spendy and ++power though.

Shoved all the Rogue Declan source code into SGDK and got it to compile by commenting out all the Amiga stuff. Bit of a mismatch between how SGDK sprite engine works and how the game works but I think I have a solution.

But it crashes as it's starting up because an array of u16 offsets gets corrupted somehow, weirdly. Very annoying.
