My inability to tolerate illogical statements will be the death of me:

Me: “hello HOA please come fix this door frame and baseboard in my house”

HOA: “has anyone come to inspect it?”

Me: “No, no one contacted me about it either”

“Can you confirm they haven’t came, they may not have contacted you.”

Rembrandt was one of the few paintings that stopped me on my tracks. However, the sad thing I noticed as I started hunting them down in museums is how bad most of them look 😖

Squished impasto is the issue 😒😒😒😒 imagine if the paint was so thick creating a particular effect but then it got pressed on 😒 or badly restored and messed up the texture

Anyways, if anyone has seen a disappointing Rembrandt - this one is in good condition and worth a trip:

It has (finally?) started. Music royalty and rights tracking is probably one of the more well developed one in the arts so hopefully this will start holding plagiarizing companied responsible… which will inevitably force the development and adoption of AI training model attributions and eventually actually paying artists for their work when it’s used! 🤞

Getting pitches in my inbox about “AI magically solving [some systemic problem due to default information pattern / bias]” and it’s like mmmm i wonder if they know how ML works or is AI code word for “magical thinking ML”.

Also the irony that SV declared itself the authority on deciding if what LLMs spit out is actually logical, coherent, or insightful - as that’s the place I’ve experienced the largest overdose of word salads and ppl just nodding along 🤔

Pro tip:

To avoid mansplaining, ask the intended audience: “may I explain this to you?”

This gives ppl the agency to either express, “it’s ok i got this” and avoid potentially insulting someone who already knows or “please do, appreciate the help”

I just saw someone do this yesterday and i was actually shocked 😅 - in a good way, like why yes just ask! Since assuming either way has its disadvantages.

Communication is hard 🤷🏻‍♀️
