Evacuation orders by Israel to hospitals in northern Gaza are a death sentence for the sick and injured

I like C++, but often I get overwhelmed by the huge amount of stuff one needs to learn to "master" it (to master the subset we end up using).

Today's example causing me confusions: move semantics and implementing a replacement for std::get<x>(y) . I have been programming in C++ for +15 years and I still get confused with 'basic' things often.

There must be some scientific explanation for why the time it takes a dog to find their spot to do their business is directly proportional to how hard it is raining.

Any cool bug on this Patch Tuesday? Anything cool to diff with #Diaphora and enhance the ability to try to find patched vulnerabilities?

I have just read someone asking Israel to bomb with nuclear weapons Iran because of the latest Israel/Palestine war. I have no words.

There won't be ever a lasting peace in Israel/Palestina until everyone from the sea to the river have the same rights.

@simonzerafa I wish. Alas, that won't be happening any time soon. For both sides killing civillians in masse is "legal" and "good".

@simonzerafa As I see it, it is easier than it looks. But that means accepting publicly a minority is ruling a majority by creating banthustans.

I'm happy to confirm that I'm going to do again my "Advanced Binary Diffing with Diaphora" training with the nice @ringzer0 people (10-17th of February next year). Here is the link if you are interested:

Hi folks! I have setup a crowdfunding account for #Diaphora in the #LiberaPay platform. If you feel like making a donation to this Open Source project you can use the following link:

How would you react if you got a notification today saying that you were a target of a nation-state sponsored attack?

What would go through your head?

if you were sorting a parameter by ascending numeric value (in some sort of parameteric search engine) and the values included positive, negative, and ± values all together, where would you want the ± ones to be placed?

context is electronics stuff, where you're searching for a part that fits your required specs.

#electronics #components (boosts welcome for more input!)

I want to create a web service in Python. I have almost always used web.py for doing so, but I have read good things about flask. What do you recommend me?

#python #webpy #flask

joxean,
@joxean@mastodon.social avatar

@danjac it is for a rather simplistic API, so flask looks like the best option here.

joxean,
@joxean@mastodon.social avatar

@nf3xn It's for a thing with #diaphora and I will most likely reuse diaphora code, which is written in #python. Most of the logic would be pushed to the database system, so I don't mind about Python being slow here, as the bottleneck would be my database system.

As for why not #webpy, no reason, other than asking what is better for new projects as of today? I have always used web.py and I'm very comfortable with it, but I'm not sure if it's actively maintained anymore.

joxean,
@joxean@mastodon.social avatar

@nf3xn So far, the only disadvantage for me using flask is that I'm 'forced' to use SQL Alchemy, something I don't really need, and I really prefer the simplicity of web.py's database interface. I don't know, I still have a couple of days to think while I'm designing everything with pen & paper.

joxean,
@joxean@mastodon.social avatar

@nf3xn I would be surprised getting any collaboration. Honestly.

oh wow this works, prob compiler optimisation but it's still some dangerous syntax

image/png

joxean,
@joxean@mastodon.social avatar

@djlink if I remember correctly, static methods always share the same copy of the function and, as it is static, no object is required. It looks to me that it is understood by compilers as doing Class::StaticMember().

In any case, dereferencing a null pointer is UB.
