this looks quite similar to other computers. maybe there’s a need for a serial number part as it is not just a CR2032. but Aliexpress have loads of them. "cmos battery" seem to be the keyword.

Is there any #NetBSD user running #GoToSocial via #pkgsrc out there?

My recent try raises issues with missing css files. Weird thing is FreeBSD PLIST does not reference them either. And compiling from source does not seem to solve the problem.

Don’t get me wrong, I used to run #NetBSD on lots of my hardware and loved it. But these days, #OpenBSD and #FreeBSD run well on the devices I have (arm64, amd64) and are feature-full OSes.

I run OpenBSD by default.
I run FreeBSD (or OmniOS or Linux) if I need something not supported on OpenBSD.

Now real question: what’s the killer feature that justifies running NetBSD (instead of Open or Free) nowadays? (Other than Diversity or Nostalgia :)

Woha, this is unexpected: in a future update mastodon will automatically turn off open registration if no mod has logged in for a week or longer:

This is great news, and should hopefully significantly cut down on abandoned servers being used to send spam!

(And this is in addition to also having open registrations off by default on new servers.)
