Nice day out at the Eisenbahnmuseum Lokschuppen Aumühle just east of it's not big, and today was a 'normal' open day, so you show yourself around, but the children love climbing into the old engines

When you say you don't like Summer, people always brush it off thinking you're just being deliberately weird. But I've seriously never understood what there is to like about it. I mean, your options are:

  1. Be too hot with the windows closed

  2. Endure noisy neighbours with the windows open - lawnmowers, kids screaming, dogs barking... (there is a dog barking and someone using an electric saw as I type this)

@Vyothric exactly. I'm so jealous of what your weather must be there haha. I was on east coast USA for most of my life (Maryland, New Hampshire, Florida) and the upper states have a ton of snow and crazy winters, Florida is obviously horrible and humid, I'm not even sure there's a great place in the USA you don't have to deal with something crappy- here is the dry heat, no natural disasters but dust storms. Still. It's SO dry it doesn't help my excema or anything else. I do like cooler temps, in our house is always 65F (at night) to 68 or 69 during the day. It's like in the 100s outside now and will only get hotter as summer goes- until November or December now. Ugh.

Specifically for the https://1kB.club/

They stipulate that the page needs to weigh less than 1kB, as measured by https://www.debugbear.com/ - which is more than just the bytes used within the .html file.

What's the upper limit of .html file size then, and how can we minimise whatever all that overhead is. Is it TLS? Would serving from an http not https make the page weight smaller? URL length?

@Floppy had this happen the other day when I changed my preference to this crap eBay is starting, they're trying to automatically opt you into their international shipping program. Turn it off, and it says "request processing". Why? Why can't the huge eBay corporation figure out how to change a preference instantly? What year is this? 🙄

Bluesky is very stormy right now.

There are both too few people, and too many.

Big enough that huge fights can erupt because of the diversity of people and opinion (and sadly, racism), small enough that you can't yet exist there just within the bubble of your interests.

As people are butting heads, and others still display clear anti-blackness, it's ever clearer that people need moderation.

We are messy, angry meatsacks, especially when our characters are limited and the nuance is lost.

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is a really great free online roguelike. You can choose classes (in the screenshot attached below, I went with minotaur) and pick a weapon (I grabbed a mace). you can play at the link below, all you need to do is click the button, pick a server, register, and you're in.
