We’re rolling out a beta of our fediverse integration in a few countries, including the US. Starting today, people who are 18 or older with a public profile can opt into a test that lets you share to the fediverse. You won’t be able to see replies or follows from the fediverse yet, but you’ll be able to see the total number of likes from Threads and the fediverse. To turn on sharing to the fediverse, go to your Account Settings and tap on Fediverse sharing.

@Xepher_X @mosseri i am on really small instance, i allreaddy followed all 32 accounts from threads.net and at the moment i am just thinking if in some distant time all 130mil accounts threads has will be advertised on fedi, since for small instances it will definitelly be challenge. Overall just curious 🙂

It's not often I get to praise China.
Their new JUNO neutrino detector is a cool device though.

The JUNO detector is not filled with pure water, as is common with some other types of neutrino detectors. Instead, JUNO uses a large amount of liquid scintillator, a cocktail of solvents and organic chemicals that emits light when neutrinos pass through it.

@RickiTarr AI generated images like this are flooding Facebook feeds. What mostly seems weird that they all get thousands of ♥️ and 👍 reactions but zero or little LOL reactions. Also they receiving thousands of “Amen” comments.

With the proposed system, if the ability to block extends to an entire referral tree, then any malicious activity could be traced back to a central node like John's.

@ncrav @hirad if I get it correctly your point is that this might inadvertently exclude those on the fringes or those who thrive in less structured environments.

It now does matter if you consider the rest of proposed functionality as beneficial, since than we can discuss how to make it more inclusive.

@ncrav @hirad we might introduce “spectator” mode for users without sponsor. They will have limited options to interact but they will be able to find sponsor directly in the network. Security and inclusivity is indeed little problem. But you introduced fantastic points to this discussion 🙏 I guess I can’t speculate more without any data anymore 😅
