I wish I felt safe enough to host a ride out on 82nd so I could wave to Pete, Gov. Kotek, & Earl on their bus tour. I'd love for them to see Portland's cyclists in action, but ironically that street is super dangerous for bikers & pedestrians, thus their tour, I guess.

Chaser: Kids in Japan are remarkably independent from a very young age — way more independent than children in the US. In Japanese cities, fifth-graders make 85 percent of their weekday trips without a parent. And it definitely has something to do with the way Japanese neighborhoods are designed.

Half the police force quit, & the crime rate dropped. It's almost like we shouldn't be having sociopathic racists in charge of policing in the first place! Also this:

This Willamette Week story is absolutely BONKERS. It's also a great reminder that COPS DON'T CARE. Here's a white guy who was so used to the system protecting white men like him that he couldn't fathom that it would fail him, too, just like it always fails women, POC, trans people, etc. Poor Kenny.

Also, know the signs of a sociopath, folks! Don't trifle with them!

    @AbandonedAmerica @KateOfMind I mean, hopefully NY only has black bears but climate change is making a lot of animals alter their behavior. For instance, maybe it was a polar bear who wandered south, painted its coat, and tried to blend in, LOL 🐻
