Smartphone manufacturers still want to make foldables a thing

Foldables are barely 1% of the market, but that's not stopping anyone but Apple.

geneticsmademedoit,

@arstechnica ok, but I still want one

Our built-in Tracker and Ad Blocker helps you protect yourself from trackers and unwanted ads🔐

Like the Desktop version, Vivaldi on #Android's privacy statistics lets you keep track of the numbers ads and trackers the browser has been blocking.

geneticsmademedoit,

@Vivaldi I wish the blocker had some more robust, granular controls like ublock origin does on desktop. I wanna break some sites 🔨

geneticsmademedoit,

@tc001 @Vivaldi oh for sure! I already use some custom ad block and tracker block lists. I'm talking about granular controls that lets you block specific elements that can break a site. With the matrix uBlock has, you can then "repair" a broken site by nooping the elements you want to reenable only on the specific sites you want. Currently, when you click the shield icon in Vivaldi, you only have the ability to walk back ad blocking or tracker blocking as a whole. It's no where near as powerful

I've been rediscovering RSS feeds and Feeder has been a delight! I'm curious what other feed readers folks are using and what interesting feeds folks are following?

Hopefully enough folks see this who use RSS feeds to respond

geneticsmademedoit,

@marcusmaximus how do you like self hosting your RSS feeds? Do you get any additional benefit doing it that way? (beyond the privacy and control of your data)

This was an exceptional article. we definitely need to take the time to smooth out the edges, build ramps, and welcome people.

https://blog.bloonface.com/2023/06/12/why-did-the-twittermigration-fail/

geneticsmademedoit,

@cd24 I agree a lot with this. Another point to mention is that it can also take time and multiple exposure to something before someone is willing to fully adopt. I was dipping my toes into the fediverse about a year before the twitter migration. And it wasn't until the twitter migration that I started using it more. And now with the reddit migration, I find myself leaning into it even further. And I'm the sort of fellow who naturally jives with OpenSource projects and mentalities.
