Ich möchte an meinem #vello Gravel gerne den Vorderradreifen wechseln, da der ab Werk vorhandene Billy Bonkers 50-406 etwas sehr knapp sitzt, wenn man ein Schutzblech montiert.

Kennt jemand einen gut geeigneten alternativen Gravelreifen. Ich finde lediglich die G-One Speed 40-406, die mir aber etwas wenig Profil mitbringen.

What a great morning on for users:


  1. A beta version of 2.15 arrived at F-Droid. It looks great and now uses Material 3 theme. Be aware: To install this version you need to explicitly select it in F-Droid.


  2. A new minor version has been released which brings GIF import, compatible stickers and other improvements.


  3. A new version has been released bringing fixes and improvements from Conversations to Snikket users.

This means:
Users who do not want to use a beta version should be able to use the stable version in a few days (F-Droid needs to finish the build, signing and deployment process for all apps of the current build cycle before the apps are published).

Wow!

@snikket_im just started their new federated instant messaging hosting service (based on #XMPP) for everyone.

This can really be a gamechanger for instant messaging.

You can bring your own domain name if you want to.

This means: for about 5.50€ (6$) a month (according to the website) you get ten instant messaging accounts for you and your family/friends using your personal domain name (not included).

And you are able to talk to every other XMPP user out there.

People who already used a previous version of monocles chat from the Play Store should be aware that this version needs to be manually installed because it had to be uploaded with a new ID. In this case you need to remove the old version and install the new one:

Have you convinced a full normie to #XMPP? How has it gone? Were there any problems or need of being help desk? Why is "ok" Monal the best client for iOS?

Yes, I agree. It helps if an app is available (using the same name) for iOS and Android.

Quicksy should help onboarding new users but it makes it more hard to explain the real advantages of #XMPP (choose your app, choose your provider, do not use your phone number, create multiple accounts, ...).

But maybe it is the right start to onboard.

Wow, die App #monocleschat wurde rechtzeitig vor Weihnachten im Play Store veröffentlicht. Das heißt: Mehr Auswahl an #XMPP Apps für reine Play Store Nutzer:innen.

Die App ist kostenpflichtig. Wenn man davon abgeschreckt ist, sollte man die Seite des Play Stores zeitnah über Weihnachten besuchen.

@monocles released a massively improved version of the #android #xmpp app #monocleschat (#fdroid ).

The input line has been redesigned. Emojis are easier to handle now. It should look more familiar to users of other messengers.
You can set a background for the chatview.
Reactions can be send more easily (message selection).
The usage of the HW AEC has been disabled for the #Fairphone4 leading to a better videocall experience for #FP4 owners.

Brompton gibt es ja mit verschiedenen Lenkern. Vello hat, soweit ich weiß, verstellbare Lenkerhöhen.

Schon für brauche ich , um Ortlieb Taschen befestigen zu können. Notebook & Kleidung.

Was hält man so von Gravelbike + Gepackträger? Wie im SYMBOLBILD?

Ich habe so ein Gravelbike mit Gepäckträger. In meinem Fall ein Bergamont Grandurance RD5 (soll keine Werbung sein, nur zur Einordnung). Benutze das praktisch für alle Touren. Täglich zur Arbeit und so weiter.
Bei höherem Körpergewicht sollte man auf das zulässige Gewicht des Rads achten. Bei mir dürfen Fahrer+Gepäck nur ungefähr 100kg wiegen.

Seit ich den Radwechsel gemacht habe, fahre ich wesentlich mehr Rad.

Heute Morgen hörte ich im Radio, dass die neue "Protected Bike Lane" in #Oldenburg an der Nadorster Straße wohl immer noch für Unmut sorgt. Für diese sind (meines Wissens) ungefähr 25 Parkplätze entfallen. Es erinnert mich an die letzte müßige Diskussion "Quellenweg wird Fahrradstraße".

Es macht mir Sorgen, wenn ich merke, dass selbst diese kleinen Änderunge, so schwer durchsetzbar sind.
Wie will man so eine echte #Verkehrswende schaffen?

Hallo,

hier scheinen ja einige mit #Brompton Erfahrungen zu haben. Ich überlege aktuell auch und bin wirklich unsicher, ob C-Line mit 6-Gang (die Kombination der Schaltungen gefällt mir nicht so sehr, insbesondere die Klick-Geräusche der Nabenschaltung auch beim Treten) oder den Aufpreis für eine P-Line.

Hat jemand mit der P-Line Erfahrung? Oder sollte man sogar auf die neue P-Line 2024 mit den neuen Pedalen warten?

Oh, vielen Dank für diesen Kurzbericht. Ich konnte aktuell leider nur die C-Line probefahren mit 6 Gängen. Der Übersetzungsbereich bei der P-Line ist also gefühlt sehr eingeschränkt? Gibt es ggfs. ein Dokument, dass die Übersetzungen übersichtlich darstellt?
Auch beim 6-Gang würde ich wohl die niedrigere Übersetzung kaufen.

Wenn ich es richtig sehe (siehe Video 2 auf https://bromptonauten.cc/threads/brompton-2024.594/ ) kommt kommendes Jahr eine 12-Gang Schaltung für die #Brompton C-Line. Falls jemand mehr weiß (Datum, o.ä.) würde ich mich über Informationen freuen.

Damit werde ich wohl noch mit meiner Anschaffung abwarten.
