Not a first for me though: HomePods with no line-in are “nope” for me.

And I waited for years with an old AppleTV until they fixed the Siri remote.

System Settings on macOS Ventura sure is disorienting - but Screen Sharing just started working again from my old iMac to the one running 13.4😲😂🙌That’s been broken for all of Monterey and I think sometime while running Big Sur.

My husband doesn't not have the kind of job where he ever does video calls, and he is waiting for a telehealth appointment to start.

It is all I can do to stop myself from trying to make him move around so he has better lighting and a background this isn't our messy kitchen so the doctor will think more highly of him and give him better care (because that &*%$ shouldn't matter, but it does).

It's too late at this point though because I don't want to introduce chaos and get him rattled.

@schwa @grammargirl I can really relate to this! I hang this big sheet behind me for WWDC labs to hide all the clutter.

That way they can only judge me by the state of my code 😱🤣

@schwa @grammargirl I asked in a WWDC lab in 2021 (I think it was ) if I should project and the first Apple guy said “no” citing approvals needed etc… bureaucracy essentially then this more experienced guy joins with his camera going so I turned on mine. It was a great moment of seeing what rules get followed.

It does feel a bit more personable to have the camera on.

Time for my #WWDC wishlist:

  • full-featured Xcode for iPad
  • ability to enable/disable HomePod “Hey Siri" via shortcut
  • HealthKit API that actually makes sense
  • create an SF symbol with one (1) SVG
  • interactive widgets
  • keep the full Maps experience on the phone when using CarPlay directions
  • replace xcodeproj with Package.swift equivalent
  • bring back iPod socks
  • $300 headset (I'm sure the rumors added an extra 0)

I just saw that protolabs.com also does sheet metal. Never used them but it might be interesting to compare price.

Hey #iosdev #swiftui community, I was wondering, what's the turnaround time these days for a testflight review on a weekend?

Just submitted something I'm building for a friend and I'd love for him to be able to see it when he wakes up tomorrow, but I'm not sure it's worth me waiting around to see if they approve it this quickly...

It seems to me testflight's pretty quick, but maybe I'm expecting too much.

@bennomatic Is this a new submission? Seems like last time I submitted a new revision on a weekend it took ~3 days. Do you know the trick about the about not changing the version number - just change the build number and TF will approve essentially immediately!

Web developers: when you say, “your browser does not support this site,” what you REALLY mean is that YOU don’t support the browser. Don’t turn it around on the user because you chose not to stick to well-supported standards, or worse, are doing user agent sniffing.

If you truly use some feature shipped by one browser and not everyone, at least say, “We use x standard feature, which is unsupported in this browser.” But even then, the web is all about progressive enhancement.

US based PSA: if you move and you get a temporary license (with no photo) make sure you carry a photo ID - even if it’s old.

An urgent care told a family member they couldn’t be treated without a photo ID. One from 2019 was acceptable!
