Polishing up a few more widget interactions, and then 1.4 should be all set. Very nice to feel good about this stuff for the first time in ~1200 years

A video of the timeline grid widget in Up Ahead. A bunch of coloured squares are scattered around a 5x5 grid, each representing events in a given day. Tapping a square opens a full-widget view of what that event is.

My latest “open source SDKs are cool, actually” story:

For a few months I'd been testing offering monthly/annual/one-time vs quarterly/annual/one-time and thanks to @revenuecat Paywalls and Experiments, discovered that quarterly (probably obviously) returned a higher LTV at the cost of few subscribers. Monthly had the inverse. Also, the default option (monthly or quarterly) was chosen miles above any other option, largely due to the footer paywall design.

Here's how it looked:

I wanted to offer all of the above and have two "defaults”: primarily the quarterly option, with monthly also exposed as a release valve for folks who didn't want to commit for more than a month. (I'd rather show two options than someone being turned off by a bigger price and bouncing.) However, the RC paywall didn't support showing two of four.

...until I forked it and updated the footer design myself. I switched the list for a grid and revealed two by default, expanding to show more.

@agiletortoise I'm probably weird in that I default(ed) to the shorter durations subs (everyone else I know seems to push annual if they have monthly + annual) but between emphasizing the smaller number and the wishful-thinking “churn can't happen to me”, I've pushed monthly first for a bit. I think quarterly is actually a nice sweet spot. Small enough to still look pretty cheap, long enough that there aren't a ton of renewal emails.

My Vision Pro recently (Monday?) developed a faulty left eye display. All video output (passthrough, immersive, reset boot screen) was displayed crisply but with uniform grain all over it. (Effectively if a Photoshop grain slider was slid up.)

A few interesting observations:

I called Apple Support and did the software things and remote diagnostics on Wednesday, then took it to the Apple Store yesterday.
