@craiggrannell You've instantly reminded me of when MAME brought out an update that ran Tekken Tag. It was slow but it ran!
Was built on the Tekken 3 engine, so it looked like an unreleased PS1 game.
I was excited.

Good to see iMore’s coverage of emulation on iPhone/iPad repeatedly making the point that emulation is LEGAL, and that there are plenty of homebrew/indie ROMs available to use in emulators.

(I’m still getting pushback all over the place when writing about this subject, with people insisting emulation is illegal, mostly citing Nintendo throwing lawyers around. Although not here on Mastodon, because you’re all lovely, smart, wonderful folks, obvs.)

Every dev considering rushing up some half-arsed Nintendo emulator on to the App Store: “Shit.”

Every dev considering putting up an emulator for any other platform: I hope they’re inspired. Delta is the high bar now. And it is a very high bar.

(Note: wouldn’t say no to a cracking C64 emulator…)

Reality: torrential downpour

How common this has become these days gives me pause. Rain around here (south of England) used to be boring and blattery most of the time. No we get Florida-style downpours on a regular basis.
