My boyfriend is currently learning web development (HTML and CSS right now). That motivated me to play around with #programming languages.

@array introduced me to exercism.org/ which allows me to practice languages on my local machine. Thanks for that.

I'm publishing my progress at git.daniel-siepmann.de/daniels… where you can see why #Nix is awesome. I've created a derivation for the exercism binary and one shell.nix per language.

That way I can play around with other language on my own system declarative. I guess this is a nice showcase for nix.

My boyfriend uses the vacation to learn programming.

He finished basic HTML and is currently working on CSS.

He want to do web development based on #python.

Any recommendations for totally new unexperienced people to get started with python web development?

Django and other frameworks look way too much compared to php. Is there an easy entry?

@array Yeah that's also my opinion. He just started with HTML and CSS through interactive tutorials.

Next would be pythons itself. But I want to be ahead in order to support him.

@freezas Yeah web development is a broad topic. He wants to start with websites. Nothing concrete yet but I guess something like a personal website, blog, etc. to get started.

@mahryekuh Thanks :) I try to guide him a bit, as I'm an experienced php developer for some years.

I'm still checking out the django and other tutorials to find something that's not too overwhelming for someone who just starts with development in general.

Django already looks okayish but also a bit too much for my personal taste. PHP has a different focus and makes it easy to transform static HTML to a dynamic website step by step.

But I guess the path with python is a bit more complex in that regard. Due to the different target of python.

@rw007 @MarcusSchwemer @cybersmog Mir hat der Zivildienst damals auch sehr geholfen. Nicht um einen plan zu entwickeln, aber um im Leben anzukommen.

We already look forward to see the next votings and outcomes of previous budgets.

the documentation question: to use RST/Sphinx or Markdown/Hugo.

Sphinx is much more consistent, Hugo is... kindof as powerful while being more familiar to Markdown users... but finding documentation for anything is hard and the fact that it happily compiles dead links kinda sucks.

@dantleech RST is now supported by @phpdoc :) maybe you wanna give it a try? It also supports markdown. Not sure if you can mix both and whether that would be a good idea...

That way you can stick to PHP ecosystem. And you can easier contribute to a community you already know.

@cybersmog @sebastian The CON was mainly targeting companies and customers. E.g. case studies, show cases, etc.
Developer Days are focusing on developers and technical stuff.

I'd prefer developer days if possible :)

@Xitnelat Dachte die EU hat bei Banken noch so ein weiteres Verfahren (letztlich 2FA) vorgeschrieben.
Ich muss immer bei Login und Buchung und Co. meiner Bank noch ne 2. App aufmachen und da nen Code generieren

Hatte aber ehrlich gehofft das Spiel wäre über mehr Strecke wie die ersten Minuten der jeweiligen Hälften.

Ich hab mich auf Saarbrücken gefreut, nachdem ich deren beiden vorherigen Spiele gesehen habe. Und ich schaue mir auch deren letzten beiden Spiele an und drücke die Daumen :)

Wir können gegen stabile Abwehr halt gar nix. Das hat Saarbrücken vernünftig genutzt.

Hab einiges mitgenommen für die nächste Debug-Session.

Ist denn der Teil zum Debuggen in der SOLR-Weboberfläche irgendwo dokumentiert? Also wie z.B. die TypoScript Optionen in der GUI heissen und wie man da am besten Queries aus TYPO3 simuliert?

Z.B. auch darauf, EDismax einzustellen, da wär ich lang nicht drauf gekommen.

@dantleech would you happen to know why I am always getting an extra tab when I press <enter> for a new line? this is happening only in php files AFAIK and I have phpactor installed

note: I am asking here not in github issues because I am not sure if this is something phpactor controlls, if that's the case I'll make an appropriate issue

Vor 3 Monaten wusste ich praktisch nichts über Investment, Aktien, ETFs, Broker usw.

Seitdem habe ich mich intensiv damit beschäftigt und weitergebildet. Wenn ich jetzt ein 30-60 minütiges kostenloses Webinar anbieten würde, um mein Wissen weiterzugeben, gäbe es daran Interesse?

Ich will nichts verkaufen, keine Affiliate-Links verteilen, keine “exklusiven” Investment-Empfehlungen - nur Grundwissen weitergeben.

Ich bin so froh dass Code-Reviews mit gemacht werden, und nicht .
Letztere mache ich im Doku-Team mit, und es ist ein Grauen:

  • Kann Codechanges nicht ohne Kommentare sehen
  • Kann Kommentare nicht zuverlässig code-zugeordnet sehen
  • Folding von Kommentaren versteckt wichtige Dinge
  • Un-Erledigte Änderungen nicht klar sichtbar
  • Kein schneller Kommentarüberblick

Einzig hübscher sieht es aus, Gerrit sieht schon eher so nach Spreadsheet-Wrestling aus.
