@EighthLayer I've just watched the collision and it's definitely an unusual thing. That said, I don't understand how you get manslaughter in this scenario.

It looks like a seriously unfortunate hockey play gone bad. Very bad.

Is that grounds for manslaughter? What about Assualt if someone gets knocked out?

@EighthLayer I mean, technically I'm also allowed to do that...but I'm not, because I'm not an arsehole.

I have very little patience for this sort of thing. Fireworks appear to be one thing that does nothing but cause a nuisance for your entire neighborhood and nobody bats an eye.

If I had a house party that effected my neighbours (single, not everyone in a 2 mile radius) the police would rightfully tell me to stfu.

Fireworks? Nothing.

Lately I've been playing games in a quite limited range of genres, mostly souls-likes, metroidvanias, soulsvanias, and a few CRPGs and JRPGs. And I'm thinking that I would like to broaden the spectrum of what I play.

Have you taken a look at #Dredge? Probably makes my top five of the year. It's a really atmospheric Lovecraftian fishing game.

And #Storyteller which is a narrative puzzle game where you have to fit together little story boards to fit into the story being given to you. Absolutely adorable and also probably makes my top five.

All this news about the Epic Game Store failing to turn a profit makes me wonder how many people are buying the Epic exclusive, playing it and then buying the game again when it hits a certain prise threshold on Steam.

It's like loss-leaders in supermarkets, only instead of buying Loo roll and then also buying the grocery shop, players are getting the toilet paper and then going to the other place to get their 'big shop'.

My wife and I took our son to see his first ever #fireworks display tonight. He thoroughly enjoyed all the different colours, how loud they were and that they were "higher than the ceiling!" 😂

@EighthLayer to be fair...we went to a 'kid-friendly' one and the only discernable difference between it and the adult one 25 minutes later was that it didn't last for as long.

Kid friendly to me (atleast when it comes to fireworks) should mean silent, or close to silent.

I fucking hate bonfire weekend as a parent with young kids.

It's been pitch black for going on three hours now. Heck, we've been to a display, stood around for two hours and came back......and at 8:30 you decide to start firing off bangers?

What's wrong with you? Or are you just an absolutely massive bellend?

@EighthLayer I think it got a parliamentary debate a few years ago but ultimately the decided that an outright ban would impact too many small traders and businesses.

Playing The Lamplighter League, and yeah, it's a nice turn based whatever, but dang, it's slow moving. My only real other experience with this type of game is Hard West, and at least the plot kept moving there.

At the moment I'm bordering on throwing in the towel because I just don't have the hours to sink into numerous variations on a theme. Needs to be a short mode where the head guy is all "yeah, just happened to find a few of the critical items down the back of the couch"

In Hockey, whichever of assistant captain/captain is on the ice at any given time that can talk to the ref. At most you'll have four people talking to the official.

I've been watching the sport for 17 years now and I don't remember ever seeing a scrum around the officials like you do in pretty much every professional football game.

The question is, would officials actually dish out cards to players who ignore the new rule?

@mlawton I think it's the same with simulation in football. If you truly want to stamp it out then it's going to get a bid ridiculous for a while, but eventually you'll see a marked improvement in players on-field actions. Maybe a few games end up as 7 asides, but ultimately in the long run it's for the better.
