A note: while I CW the occasional political post, I don't typically CW things like faces or food. My art is weird, often includes eyes/faces/masks, and can be (I'm told) eerie.

@jake4480 @sarajw @cory The weird thing is that people are willing to put up with a lot of abuse if it means getting content they want. I think the real tipping point comes when Stop the Madness-type blockers start becoming OS-level features that are on by default.

Like—my parents don't know how to install adblocking plugins, but they absolutely appreciate having them.

When sites that rely on this trash have to either find ethical sources of income or fail, that's when we'll see change.

@Luke @Okay I would love to see a design site like those early ones. I've never run across anything that had the same spirit. I can imagine that creating and managing one would be no small task, though.

Like—am I missing something, or are there no design-related portals anymore? My sense is that design sites have given way to social media accounts and newsletters, but maybe I'm wrong about this.
